I liked Deidera, he was like super powerfull and rigged, he would be ausome, he could probably single handedly take out even the most powerfull villages, just fly over them and drop like that huge thing he tried to drop when he fought against garra, and destroy like the entire village in one blast, all while being so high up they wouldn't be able to reach himU_U

and no diedara did not defeat gaara the only reason that happend was because gaara made a choice to protect the village and left his defences open

he still got defeated because dat was diedara's plan, he knew gara was gonna protect the village, cause its his duty. It was something diedara counted on happening. He used that to his advantage n beat him.

If they were any place else for that battle the outcome might not have been the same. Nevertheless, gaara wouldnt have easily defeated diedara.

yeah, you're right, gaara could 've killed him, but deideira fight to weaken gaara, not to kill him, so he couldn't use his strongest jutsus (as he did vs. sasuke), which gaara couldn't have blocked. deideira is much stronger than he seems to be at the beginning.

i would coose itachi, cause he would be the most interesting for the story and I like him most of the old akatsuki team. I think he would 've stopped sasuke from his revenge-thoughts of konoha. but he's for sure dead. however, it seems that he died very much of over-using susano, not just because he was ill. and he's for sure dead.
the only character who could come back would be hidan, who won't come back cause he's just not important for the main story.
