1.Itachi (Even while almost dying he really toys with sasuke to let him think he beats him he try to trap Madara,none of the character we see so far was a match to him, and he have been one the few known character to plan thing months and year in advance)
2.Pain (we know why)
3.Konan (she force Madara to sacrifice one of his EMS)
4.orochimaru (since he defect akatsuki and haven't been murdered he had to be strong)
5.Kisame (probably one of the top 3 shinobi in their of chakra pool including jinchuriki)
6.kakuzu (seriously he had such a brute force and almost immortal)
7.sasori (he was awsome but we haven't seen anough too class him higher

2.Pein (same)
3.Orochimaru (Only beatable by ridiculous Doujutsu ie: MS and Rinnegan)
4.Kisame (Can suck out 6-tails worth of chakra at one go with his sword, therefore sucks the chakra out of all the special abilities of those below him)
5.Sasori (Nothing to say, better than the bottom 5 but there is no way he could beat anyone above him)
6.Kakuzu (Had all the elements but wasn't top 5 material.)
7.Konan (One fight that she had set up since pein died does not make her a superstar)
8.Deidara (He is alright but I don't think he can beat Konan just because she can escape the bombs easily.)
9.Zetsu (His white half is pretty weak
10.Hidan (He was immortal but actually sucked balls, he couldn't even hit Asuma most of the time, and he got killed by ShikamaruWEAK!
As for Itachi and Pein they are interchangable for me but I give Itachi the edge because he was insanely intelligent and Amaterasu is too fast for fat Pain to get in the way and suck it up. Plus his Susanoo can seal anybody and block any sort of attack because of the Yata Shield and Totsuga sword. The only way I see Pein winning is if he gets the jump on Itachi or if Itachi doesn't recognize the threat and pull out his MS. Also Itachi has unbeatable Tsukuyomi which can't be countered by anyone not in his family.(It says it in the manga) Plus he has more than MS abilities.

lol yeah right.. only prob is itachi's body is fragile and has low stamina. intelligence is nothing compare to an OVERWHELMING POWER.
Pain's brute strenght can't be handled by itachi.period.
The only thing about Konan...and I like her...is that the only reason she almost killed madara was that she spent years making those paper bombs...that was a one time Jutsu...and a suicide bombing at that!!! So we don't even know how strong she really was.

Um we see this sort of thing all the time in Naruto. Shikamaru killing Hidan for example, smart planning and battle tactics beats out pure strength. If he fought the right way he could take Pein out in one go unlike Naruto having to kill the Paths multiple times.

I disagree with your list:
1. Sasori is stronger than Konan, Zetsu, Deidara. He defeated the Third Kazekage (the strongest Kazekage), he was an elite puppet master because he managed to control 100 puppets (the limit for the puppets master was that they couldn't control 1 puppet per one chakra thread, while Sasori could.
2. Although I hated Kakuzu, I should admit that they are strong, and Kakuzu had 4 hearts ( one heart controlled one element).
3. Pain deserves the first place since he had the Rinnegan, he didn't show his true-self ( I mean his total powers) because he didn't want to kill Naruto.
4. Kisame was the Zero-Tailed beast he was very strong, I think that Killer Bee would've been caught if Raikage and his bodyguard hadn't arrive.

once his C4 activated it will easily >>>all akatsuki members this includes pain(it's inevitable,even if he inhale a bit of air,it's game over) except 3 people:
itachi: just like what sasuke did, he will fool deidara by using genjutsu and don't
forget that itachi is better in genjutsu than sasuke.
sasori: he's a puppet,he doesnt inhale air.plus deidara admitted that sasori was

kakuzu(please learn to spell his name right): well this might sounds stupid but his mask is covering him from inhaling air molecules(though i'm not sure about the hearts)

This is almost exactly like my list except I switched Kakuzu and Deidara because Kakuzu can do what Sasuke did and use his lightning element to nullify the bombs.
And I did have Oro number 3 and Kisame 4.
