I think Akainu Solos both situations.
Obviously BB stated he wasnt ready, and im positive that Ace's mastery of MMnM was much much better then current sabo and he lost, even though he was trying to save luffy, i dont think sabo can handle Akainu, atleast not with current feats.

S1: Akainu will probably low diff base Sabo and mid diff Yami Teach individually. Together with some sort of combos it might just push it to high if i were generous

S2: If it's preskip Gura+Yami Teach, he can push Akainu within the range of high-extreme difficulty. I think Mera Sabo can push Akainu to mid difficulty individually, so together they should win though not by much. I'd say very high difficulty. If it's postskip Gura+Yami Teach, he can solo with around high-very high difficulty

we don't have any feats for post time skip BB. and if pre time skip BB ran away while his entire crew was there i highly doubt he's pushing akainu to high diff. mid diff at most

And i know we have no feats from him postskip but it's my assumption that makes me believe that scenario to be the case now

really liked that scene and luffy and BB first encounter it was cool.

You have no proof of that. There were no point in engaging Akainu there. His crew was no match to Ace, so let alone Akainu. Even if he were to win, his crew may have died and himself may have been in a critical state with anyone taking advantage of this ruining his ambition. He had better things to do that engaging a fight with Akainu right there that could have lasted for long or even days(like Akainu-Kuzan) when Whitebeards territories were free and waiting for someone to conquer there. You must look at a larger scale rather than an instant moment. It was the most reasonable decision he made actually
