Akainu is not a villain. I don't know why everyone keeps saying that. He might be a antagonist, but not a villain.

Why? Because logically Luffy is the villain here.... i mean you have to be kidding me if you forgot about all the pirates and criminals he helped escape in Marineford arc..

It depends on your perception. If you're on the StrawHat's side, then the World Government is the villain. The opposite is also true. It's kind of like Death Note. Light can be the hero or the villain depending on your perception (and who you want to win). So, yes, Akainu is a villain.

He is following his code of justice. He is an Anti-Hero. So yes ; a Antagonist but most certainly not a Villain. No Marines are Villains aside from Vergo.

Marines arent villians but not all good like they seem to be imo that's why there is a void century and the creation of WG currently is a secret, i mean revolutinaries must be the best guys in one piece...

Luffy's final battle will be Akainu not BB.

So yeah Akainu is a villian not to the society of OP but Luffy's perspective.

How do you go from saying "Akainu can be either based on your perception" to saying he's a villain like it's a fact.

He killed ace.
For me, he is as much of a villain as Blackbeard.

OK, let's make it simple.

- Slavery is prohibited by World Government.
- Certain places in the world still practicing slavery.
- Tenryubito still practicing slavery.
- Whatever Tenryubito do, World Government do nothing for them.
- World Government receives bribes in exchange for ignoring the slave trade.
- Strawberry knew that since his days as Rear-Admiral, and he ignored it. That's Strawberry. What about others?

Now what do we get from this?

Any Marine officer despite his/her rank can violate certain rules/orders set by World Government. The Marines committed a crime. Strawberry is a criminal for not capturing who practice slavery. There are very few or more Marines officers who violate rules and laws of peace of the world. The organization as the World Government is corrupted and tainted.

If there are people who will purge the Marines name from those filthy people, it's Coby, Hellmepo, Smoker, Tashigi, Garp.

The rest of Marines are criminal, and that includes Fleet-Admiral Sakazuki (Akainu).

The World Government is the most dangerous organization that will threatens world's peace.

- The Revolutionary Army
- Red Hair Pirates
- Aokiji
- Supernovas
- StrawHats + Allies

Are the only who can take down World Government and Marines.

Sakazuki is war criminal and killer. His judgment has not come yet. Killing Ohara's civilians at that day, he'll pay for that.

He's basically a comparable parallel with Danzo.

Both in theory are not villains as they aim to improve their nation/village. The conflict is they are morally questionable.

Sakazuki is willing to flat out kill his men in cold blood of he doesn't feel they are instilling absolute justice. Coby was attempting to save the lives of wounded marines. There was no longer a need to fight WB's men, and as a crew they had been notably lessened as a world threat.

But Akainu disregarded the need to help his subordinates in desperation to kill Luffy.

So I agree he isn't a villain in terms of what a definition villain would be, but in the sense of labeling him an antagonist... I'd say some people say villain as a word for Antagonist as the normality with things such as say Disney... Your hero is a good guy and not someone operating against the law like Pirates do.

Akainu is just morally questionable.

Akainu is a villain. Remember Robin's flashback? Yeah, that was no justice. He ordered the extermination of innocent people, even children, simply because they were citizens of a certain place. Kuzan is a marine too, he did his job stopping Saul but he wouldn't go into such extremes. Why? Because he does have a sense of justice despite following orders from a corrupt government. And he was opposed to Akainu becoming the Fleet Admiral exactly because of the fact that Akainu has a distorted sense of justice, so distorted that it makes him a villain.

For me he is the most disgusting character in the manga. So disgusting that he would disturb even the members of Blackbeard's disgusting crew. Okay the last part was quite an exaggeration but you get what I am trying to say :p

Akainu is baws, the people from Ohara and Ace totally deserved what he did. Akainu for president.

You are right to a certain extent....I personally think Akoiji would be a better FA.....why is does that matter??? Because Akianu is one of the BIG reason why I hate WG....because it is sooo corrupt.....I mean they protect people who have slaves...SMH....I personally don't like coby but akianu didn't even hesitate about killing him....that isn't what Marines are supposed do that's what pirates are supposed to do.....so in some sense akainu is like danzo he looks at the bigger picture so in conclusion I would agree with you..... But he isn't white(good) nor is he black(evil)....he is gray

Yes he is a villan, he killed a marine because of the most foolish thing and why? because he's an admiral. He has no sense of morale and he's one of the biggest cowards in OP (excluding Blackbeard). When an fatally injured and sick whitebeard was trashing him low diff he wasn't talking any of that good stuff not to mention he was crapping himself when whitebeard was initially behind him. After whitebeard had died he was talking the most bull i have ever heard. and even if he is a good guy his morals are wrong so technically regardless of that fact, he's still a villain. The straw hats are portrayed as bad guys be we know that they aren't all bad, they do more good than bad. A portion of the marines are corrupted

That is why i class Akinu as a coward and a villan

It's funny because Akainu isn't really corrupt, he just does his job. The Ohara incident is actually justifiable. The scholars were willingly breaking the law. If it was real life, you guys would be calling them criminals. By letting the Ohara scholars continue their research, Akainu would risk the possibility that the Ancient Weapons would be revived and threaten the safety of innocent people. Is the World Government and Marines corrupt? Yeah, there's shady shit going down.

But don't let the fact that the pirates are the main characters fool you, they're criminals and Akainu is just trying to protect innocent citizens. This is shown by how non-scholars on Ohara were allowed to leave and only the scholars who broke the law were forced to stay and die.

Akainu looks out for the bigger picture and is just willing to be vicious for the greater good.
