Agree or disagree and why?
I disagree.
Ill do from greatest to worst instead:
1.Dragonball super.
2.Dragonball.
3.Dragonball gt.
4.Dragonball z (Dbz).
5.Dragonball Kai.
I do find it difficult to compare though as these series have been created in different years.
There is even ~20 years between some.
That aside if I had to make a list I would make the one above.
1.Dragonball super.
Dragonball super isnt done yet, but I really like it.
It has the most character development, depth, tactics, battle choreography, interesting characters, vilains etc. out of the dragonball series.
Not weird in a way as it is the newest serie and had the opportunity to learn from the past and improve upon.
Still I also think it does good for its time.
I am really happy with it.
I had always hoped that a new dragonball series would happen, to see how it would look in nowadays time.
So Dragonball super, glad to have you around.
2.Dragonball.
Older than Dragonball gt and Dbz, yet still better.
Therefore Dragonball stomps on them hardcore.
It does about everything better than Dragonball gt and Dbz.
The only thing it has less, is less flashy pewpew kaboom transform etc. which wouldnt have done the powerscaling at the time good anyway I think.
3.Dragonball gt.
I was in doubt what to rate higher. Dbz or Dragonball gt.
Throughout time I have had mixed feelings about Dragonball gt. The look of ssj4 played a big role in it. Still I think in the end I would rate Dragonball gt higher than Dbz.
Even though I really dislike the look of SSJ4.
I would have preferred if all ssj4's looked like Gogeta ssj4.
Brown fur. Red hair. Either his blue eyes or every ssj4 having a different color than blue.
I liked that you cant just overuse the dragonballs (Shadowdragons) as they were not meant to be overused. Also the dragonradar adds in increasing overuse chances.
Enemies were a lot cooler in gt than z imo.
The travels through space, super 17, Baby, the Shadowdragons (especially Nuova was cool with morals and his heat). Majin Boo and Uub becoming one (Majuub) was cool too.
I liked Pan her character too, even though she didnt go SSJ.
Also interesting to see Goku leave with Shenron at the end.
Adult Trunks and Goten going adult Gotenks and Majuub being relevant more often would have done the series good I think. So a bit of a bummer there.
4.Dragonball z.
I grew up with Dragonball z and I do have warm feelings of nostalgia for it.
Also when Goku went ssj vs Frieza I was going ''F yeah, awesome!''. It had some cool action.
However Dbz lacked serious depth compared to super, gt and even compared to the older series Dragonball.
Dbz was basically train/do whatever to get a higher power lvl than the vilains.
Vilains were kinda simple. They wanted either revenge, world domination or both.
Revenge usually because of being defeated by Goku at some point in time. World domination just because they wanted to rule the world. There wasnt much behind their actions. In that sense, Dragonball super Zamasu is a lot more interesting.
Maybe this flashy Dbz pewpew action worked well with the audience at the time, but for me the lack in character development, tactics and overall depth makes it less enjoyable.
The dragonballs were also used way to easily to fix stuff.
I liked Piccolo his change of heart and to some extend Vegeta finaly acknowledged Goku, but there wasnt much more development like that Dbz. Way too little.
5.Dragonball Kai.
This never did it for me.
