After rewatching Naruto, my favorite character is...

Obito.

The artistic story telling that Kishinoto displayed with his character spoke volumes to me.
It got to me when aobito constantly said that he's "in hell" and that Rin was his ray of hope that doesn't exist anymore. And how that connected with Naruto and his giant rasengan atop the tree of life was brilliant.

The scene ends with Kakashis speech about following the light. And all we see is that rasengan in the sky, and foot prints of every shinobi on the floor. The only word that displays on that still-shot: "Obito."

Seriously though, the one thing Kishi screwed up with Obito, was trying to force it down the audience, that his life was tragic. The Rin dying thing was enough for me but it wasn't for others. Instead of Kishi adding more reasons to empathize with him he adds more Rin flashbacks to get the point across. Unfortunately, all that did was annoy people.

Kishi needs to take more notes from Mr. Hiatus X Hiatus. Look at Meruem. He didn't have much to relate to or any background, yet in his last moments, people cried.

Right! There where so many flashbacks on Obitos passed that i just stopped feeling anything for the man. smh

Gaara had the saddest past in the manga that I can think of.

OT: My favorite character is Shikamaru, I really liked the idea behind his jutsu and I liked his character(Doesn't really care to do anything for himself but goes out of his way for friends and comrades)

Zabuza/Oro are still tied for my favorite villain.
