No he didn't lose because of the wood dragon, no he didn't lose because of the mokujin, no he didn't even lose to the oh so mighty Shisuusenju (apparently that was more impressive than it actually is), he lost because he decided to deactivate his sharingan in the final sword clash and got tricked by a mere wood clone (he said that only he could see through them with his sharingan in a previous chapter if you remember).

Thank you Kishimoto, that was the defeat Madara deserved. (no sarcasm, I actually wanted to see him lose because of his arrogance)
