It's rather the fact that they achieved their goal I think, plus kizaru wasn't even half scared of ben, nor was akainu for that matter.

They only stopped because sengoku asked them to

How would Akainu keep rythm with Yami Yami which would fodderzone his Lava fruit,and Gura fruit at the same time...

BB is the newest Yonkou...pre skip he was no match for the likes of Akainu and Shanks. Besides all these guys are closely knit in terms of power...putting BB at 7 doesn't mean he loses against the guys above him for sure, and they're all high-extreme difficulty fights.

I honestly can't see how Akainu defeats BB.

It's not like BB doesn't have Haki too...

Shanks was there with his crew. Add into the fact that you have Blackbeard there as well wildly using the Gura, plus the remaining WB crew, it would not have been smart to continue fighting at Marineford.

Secondly, they accomplished their goal. And that caused the Marines to go wild and fight even harder. They'd have looked like savages to the world. The Marines have to protect their image.

If Shanks was alone, they may have continued fighting.

If you coat your attacks with haki, Yami Yami won't be able to nullify it, and we currently don't even know if his haki is good enough to match the admirals or even if he has the other two colors.

But yes, his portrayal puts him above akainu
