They're equally powerful, so I can't tell which of them can win in a fight. The fight would be so close that even a small mistake can turn the table around. The chances of winning are equally high for both, but I'd favor Akainu strictly because of his portrayal as one of main bosses.

Does Aokiji have leadership qualities? Unlike Akainu Kizaru "peek a boo'd" Newgate to get that shot which to me means no significance.

Akainu blasted off Marco, Vista, Jozu etc at the same time with ease and mid time skip battle showed Aokiji to be at least 99% of him. Meanwhile Kizaru never did something in this level

Secondly he saw all marines as too weak to be given the honor of killing Roger.

Who cares? Pica saw Luffy, Zoro, Fujitora, and Law combined as too weak for himself. Pica>all of them confirmed?

It was never once stated that WB's potency with his Devil Fruit decreased with age. The only things noted to have weakened in WB were his stamina and his reflexes. The only difference between prime and old WB, as given in the manga, is that prime WB can fight longer and see faster.

A sick and old Newgate never ****ed up a current top tier. He jumped Akainu, and didn't even KO him or take him out of the war. When he and Akainu fought in a straight fight, Whitebeard lost.
