The entire idea of the story is absolutely laughable, I don't have a problem with every story ever told being revamped, (to crack a pun) to include vampires, but nobody needs to all of the sudden have super powers just to be able to fight them.
I am sure if the ability to take out a small forest with a single swipe of a 19th century axe was nixed from the on screen adaptation, we would all survive, and the less flashy more realistic approach to the entire thing would attract a larger audience.
