I think that Toneri hides our planet from Otsutsuki! But he can not do this anymore, he is mortally sick, perhaps, just like Itachi ! When Momoshiki and Kinshiki come, he will be already dead!

I think that people who spit blood are not very healthy, and he gave Boruto to the Jugan, because he is dying! When he died, Momoshiki and Kinshiki break into the world

If he does end up dying (either due to the same god-tier AIDS that sent both Itachi and Kimimaro to their premature graves or by Momoshiki/Kinshiki), I hope that he gets some decent screen time prior to it. I don't think I need a mini arc with him and Boruto (though it would be sick) but I would like to see at least a single episode with him front and center of it because to be honest the entire aspect of Naruto: the Last that dealt with Toneri was pretty awful and even broke the canon continuity by the end of the film. It seems like they have something interesting for Toneri to do in Boruto, but so far he's had about as much dedicated screen-time/plot progression as Thanos has had during the post-credit scenes of every Marvel movie since the Avengers.

If he dies without having a direct hand in the plot and just ends up only having these mysterious space segments and dreams, then that would just be a major disapointment.
