The man behind the mask... IDC who he is but, He has the 3 tomoe sharingan. Which he did not use izgani(sp?) against Konan on. He used his other eye(hidden within the mask). He then only transplanted one Rinnengan.
We later find out that the Rinnengan is just the Sharingan in a higher state of Awakeness. So why not have 2 complete eyes? Why keep a lowly 3 tomoe sharingan that we haven't seen go MS or EMS or anything?
