You hate being a grammar cop, yet you are missing periods, commas, and capital letters. :|

On Topic: Usually the mods have a good reason they will close a thread. I've never seen any thread closed, because there was no flaming or insults. If you have an example of a thread that you posted that was wrongly closed, please post a link. U_U Don't say that I'm brown nosing. I'm not. Making a thread about this wasn't the best move in my opinion. >_<
it's because that n't he didn't add at first changed his entire post what i forget to add (because I'm lazy on the internet) doesn't affect my posts at all

yes mindless because i choose to voice out my opinion instead of just shutting up and taking it like you do right. i'm sorry but my goal in life isn't to have as many rep points and awards as you do on a anime forum site. if there is unfairness being directed at me or any other member by staff who isn't being right, then i will say what i have to say. if that person in turn takes it as i'm trying to just flame/insult them, then they are just proving my point.
Oh damn. You took it to my awards and rep.

Well, this post is a little off-topic, so sorry for this, but I really appreciate NB and I take part in contests here. You're someone who's obviously been given infractions before or had your threads closed; and instantly all mods are evil. How stupid does that sound? It's like getting expelled from school, and instantly, the teachers are the devil. You get caught breaking the law, and get sent to prison - the police are demons.

You're not making any sense, you broke rules and therefore will suffer the consequences. There's no need to have bitch-fits about it acting as if the staff are behaving like 'children'. Maybe you should follow the rules, you did agree to following them when you joined. Don't like it? Go elsewhere.

I'm clearly arguing with a simpleton here who can't take an infraction like any normal member can.

I don't want to point fingers and even though this makes me seem apologetic, there are others whom have experienced this, maybe their testimony will suffice?
If not, if you want proof, you'll have to search for it yourself. Selfish as that may sound, it's because giving it might create some serious bashing against the mods. Don't want that. It isn't what the thread is about.
Makes it all the more complex eh?:ghehe:

Then it is best to walk away. You haven't lost temper and remained rather calm, so let's end it here. This thread has gotten too off-topic as is.
hate to say i told you so but i figured this is exactly how this would end up. i knew someone would come in here and get all hurt, act like a kid, and then go away talking all high and mighty. only thing i'm surprised about is that no infractions were given, but then again it would have only proven our point even more than he already has. i do like that you tried to say something about it but honestly, only way to deal with it is to ignore it.

i hate being a grammar cop but you might want to add a n't at the end of should to the end of the fourth line

also the way you try to take the moral high ground every time just aggravates me to no end
Thank you. My bad. Edited.

Moral high ground is actually a paradox. But thats a different discussion all together. I'm not trying to do any such thing. I'm simply replying to the points made on this thread. If I offended you, sorry. It was not my intention. Had it been my intention I wouldn't have done so in such "passive" manners. Those who know me in Nb, know I'm not known for "finess". So again, if you took insult in my expressions, I'm sorry. The intention wasn't there I assure you.

Wesobi put it all quite nicely and so did Vincent. The core of this issue is that if you don't agree with the rules of this community, which you agreed upon signing up btw, you are free to leave and don't be bothered by it. Its a free site with no strings attached. You can leave the moment you feel you don't have fun anymore. The moment you don't like things, you can leave. We don't force people to stay here but the people who do need to understand what they agreed upon when they decided to stay here. We have rules, its our job to enforce them, your job to follow. Simple. Its the simplest most basic premise of a community: following the rules. Thats one of the core premises that actually defines a community.

Hmmm~ There will always be misunderstandings and hurt resulting as of it.
But I'll still place my trust in the mods being able to take this seriously, and looking at things, I do think I've gotten through to some at least.
No infractions, little spam, deep albeit a bit confused discussion; That's Brat quality threads right there! ;D

@Scorps: I would rep you for saying sorry, but then that would mean I'd have to do the impossible and rep you when I haven't spread it enough.
Thank you.

I find this post very fitting for the content of this thread besides the very reasonable original post
Yep nexus said it best that day. I find it useful sometimes when a mod closes with there post. But I do not like when a mod belittle's a member for any reason regardless if the member broke the rules the mods are not put in place to single out people in public for any reason that's why there is pm and vm. I understand sometimes it is hard not to do this but self control is something that is free and everyone has.

I can say I have posted stupid crap and rightfully got punished for it but to an extent keep it private do not make a mods comments towards a member visible to anyone because it does not seem right.
Everyone just needs to keep the respect rate up and not act like spoiled children.

your welcome and i accept your apology i do have fun on this site and i know you mods have to keep everything in line but i do feel that sometimes a mod takes it to far such as the Vision rule ( which is something Wesobi told me about) I'm all for fairness and getting along but i just can't help but wonder if the mods keep the posters in line who keeps the mods in line?

and if i offended you i apologize

if you're going to call someone a simpleton then maybe you should learn to read through everything being discussed before making yourself look stupid for making comments like that. i'm a have to apologize to op and say that he is right about me having to be consistent with what i say because its obvious that people don't read very well. so i'll even put it in bold so that you won't miss it okay :)

never did i say that ALL mods act like kids who abuse the power that was given to them. iv'e only come in contact with 2 and they are the type of person that we are here discussing about. i guess you can add scorps by the way he's been acting on this thread. there is nothing wrong if we want to talk about our experiences with this type of behavior. its called freedom of speech. none of which you could say was being insulting either. if a mod can't take hearing criticism about how they act and in turn close threads and dish out infractions/bans over it, then that is in fact childish of them.

^ basically what this thread is about. learn to read through everything first before opening your mouth and trying to insult someone.

Global mods keep mods in line and admins in turn them. So, you just go up the ladder if you have problem with a mod(or Gmod), and I would believe another admin if it reaches that high.

The Vision rule is created because troll threads got too many attention. Instead of just reporting the thread, the people kept replying in it and I assume the mods got tired of that, so that simple rule was put in place. It's not that hard; just report a troll thread and then nobody gets infracted for spamming in a thread.

The global mods and the admins keep the mods in line. If a mod crosses the boundaries (I believe that has happened once a few years ago) then the global mod or admin can be alerted and they'll take care of it.
Sorry for the offtopic

Forgive me.

If you believe certain mods have been abusing their power, which I doubt they were, all you needed to do was to report them to a Global Mod.

you should read everything being discussed before coming in here and coming at me with a comment like that

you just said it there yourself. stating a fact is not an insult. well it is a fact that some mods act like little kids and abuse their powers as a mod when they take something personal even if it was never personally meant for them in the first place. and if that's how some of some of you are going to be taking everything said, then you shouldn't even be a mod. nobody here was insulting anyone until you came and started with the other guy. i'm the only one that mentioned vision and i didn't call her/him anything at all so don't try to bs us.
Um.... my comment was only directed to when. S said that you should follow the rules. I agreed to him that you should follow the rules.... there is no reason for me to read all the other comments.

We all have temper problems. The core ability we as a community must work on is the ability to let it behind our backs when we're talking about little things that have little matter.

But we are kept in line by the global mods and overall by the admins. They are the ones who guideline and check our work. The same way we moderate normal members, they moderate us.

I assure you, if we weren't doing our job as the admins want us to do, we wouldn't be in the staff.

Why thank you. I was getting this notion that I was getting old. Guess I'm still a young child. Good to know.

Btw, you're in Narutobase.net. Its not a democracy or a free country. It belongs to a single person who owns it and everything posted and done in it. The rules, the guidlines, the structure, etc is all made by the owner and the rest of the admins. Its their property. Its not based on concepts such as freedom of speech or freedom or the right to vote or wtv it is you deem it.

Such concepts don't apply in a community such as Narutobase. Nor in any similar community. If every member payed to sustain it, thus being, in essence, part owner, and all the members had the right to vote and choose their leaders, then yes...concepts like that would apply. But its not the case as we are not a country...

Getting back on topic:
I hope this reaches all of you, mod as member, I wish only to bring up this particular phenomena.
That you at least consider whether this applies to you or not, seriously, would be wonderful.

then that is something you wouldn't be able to have any say in since it happened to me(and to others), not to you.

you really do have to when his comment was irrelevant to what was really being discussed and said by me.

Why thank you. I was getting this notion that I was getting old. Guess I'm still a young child. Good to know.

freedom of speech isn't just meant as an actual law for a specific country. no matter where a person is, especially if on the internet, they have the right to speak up on the injustices made by its "leaders". that's something you'll never take away from me. you can keep throwing the rule book at me but its totally irrelevant to this topic and you know it. whether mods or members, people shouldn't insult others. that's a rule i agree with. the point that you're choosing to ignore is that criticism with actual facts is not in any way an insult. if you (mods) are taking these criticisms as personal insults then you shouldn't be a mod in the place. an adult doesn't make the issue worse by abusing their power over those with less, they accept their mistakes and makes them right. only kids think they're never wrong and that no one has the right to say anything otherwise.

But then, if they were to accept and correct their mistakes, would that be acceptable to you? Despite a bit off struggling here and there?
We all have "flaws", without any patience when dealing others' we would be in a much sorrier state than we already are in.

I've been watching this thread for a bit now, and I have to admit I haven't seen anything like what OP has stated. But Schrodinger's cat. I also really like what I am seeing: a respectful question then a respectful answer. And after an argument, polite apologies. It's really a breathe of fresh air to see this kind of tone in members, very unlike most other threads. So in summation kudos to you guys, I'm really quite proud. ^.^
