About moderators and the way some threads end.

I'm going to leave the sum of most of what needs to be said about the issue on the hands of a Global Moderator since I personally feel its more adequate. However, had you wanted to express your point in a more viable way, this thread wouldn't have been made. You know, from first hand experience as I've seen you in the forum for quite some time, that threads giving "inputs" to the work Mods do will not attract people with viable inputs. It will only attract people that will reply some idiotic answer like this:




These types of posts only showcases why such matters shouldn't be discussed in threads. It ends up in staff bashing which always ends up in infractions, bans and unnecessary drama.

The correct approach could have been 1 of 3 viable ones:

-talk to the mod who you see doing that and express your opinion

-talk to the global moderators in pm, expressing your point on the issue

-talk to an admin, mainly Zise or Rei as they are in charge of the overall forum and express your issue.



Such a thread will only end up in unsavory experiences for some members that are attracted to such topics...

I see your point, maybe this was a bit haphazard.. Well, to be honest, it'd have to be the third option.

But without the staff handing out infractions, this forum would be a disaster. Go to 4chan if you want all hell to break loose.

i have no problem with infractions/bans being handed out when needed. but some of them act like kids and then hide behind that "no talking shit about mod/admin rule". i didn't know i was in the "Cuba" section of the internet where the "leaders" can do what they want and i can't say a thing about it. ya some mods can be egotistical and immature and just plain rude but others are cool like this RP mod i can't remember his name but he was really awesome he was banning the people who were created troll thread and spam thread and even explained that he could only ban them and not close down the thread itself that guy was cool

I'm sorry for meddling, but you do have a point about how one should be able to make remarks upon behaviour, but then it shouldn't be in the form of 'shit-talking' should it?
I believe in communication between a normal member and a mod/admin, but mind you it really should be in a civilised manner, where both parts are tuned in on the same frequency, showing that they can keep and adequately convey their thoughts/opinions to one another.

i call it "shit talking" because that's how they take it. i'm perfectly able to have a civilized discussion with anyone about things like this. i'm just pointing out what they see it as and how they take it.

Yeah, well, it isn't really, because it points out that then it is your laziness that is what probably makes them misunderstand it as 'talking shit about them'.
Clarity and consistency are quite elemental in understanding each other.

He has a point. If you dont want to get an infraction then just follow the rules. Ive only had one infraction and thats for not following the rules. Following the rules is not hard and if you do you can enjoy this base to the fullest
