Sooo I know I am bringing back ooold old episodes back from the good old days, but I was just rewatching the first Naruto Shipuuden episodes and something struck me as quite disturbing: How the **** did Gaara lose so pathetically versus Deidara? I mean sorry, but imo Gaara is times stronger than that flake. Atm he is one of the stronger Kages amongst the 5, he's even the General of the shinobi forces, fighting against a few badass ex-Kages at the same time, but he couldn't stop just one of the Akatsuki pawns, one that is not even amongst the strongest Akatsuki members? It doesn't really make much sense.
Pretty much the one thing he did right in that battle was to protect his village and it looks like that would have failed too if Sasori, or God forbid Pein for example, had interferred in the battle. Anyone agree or am I just making Gaara to be stronger than he actually is?
