Sooo I know I am bringing back ooold old episodes back from the good old days, but I was just rewatching the first Naruto Shipuuden episodes and something struck me as quite disturbing: How the **** did Gaara lose so pathetically versus Deidara? I mean sorry, but imo Gaara is times stronger than that flake. Atm he is one of the stronger Kages amongst the 5, he's even the General of the shinobi forces, fighting against a few badass ex-Kages at the same time, but he couldn't stop just one of the Akatsuki pawns, one that is not even amongst the strongest Akatsuki members? It doesn't really make much sense.
Pretty much the one thing he did right in that battle was to protect his village and it looks like that would have failed too if Sasori, or God forbid Pein for example, had interferred in the battle. Anyone agree or am I just making Gaara to be stronger than he actually is?

no gaara is a beast but in that battle diedara was just to swift with his movements, not to mention gaara had a village to protect at the same time, to make that big sand dome would of taken considerable chakra, also at the same time as using chakra to keep down is tailed beast as at that point if im not mistaken he wanted to do things with his own power

Well if you had like a million people to watch over then your mind wouldnt be about winning the fight either.

I know he had to protect the village, but let's be honest - that's not the reason Deidara took him down - Deidara won because he managed to trick him by mixing his clay with his sand and thus make his clay spider-bombs crawl inside of his ultimate defense. Which would have worked even if Deidara hadn't dropped that giant clay-duck in the middle of his village - imo that was just Kishi trying to show what an amazing Kazekage he is, protecting the village and blablabla
You are right that he overused his chakra through, I guess that could explain a few...

imo the only reason he lost was because he was protecting the people and the village

That's true, but think about it, he sort of failed in protecting them in theory - after Gaara passed out Deidara was still well and flying around. Deidara could have continued blowing up the village and killing people, now that the Kazekage had lost. The only reason he didn't do it was not because Gaara had been such an amazing Kazekage but simply because he didn't need that - he needed the Jinchuuriki. Sooo the Sand was left at his mercy - therefore Gaara failed. Which just doesn't feel right...

First bold: 3rd Kazekage is the Strongest One. And i think he barely surpass his father. Because he fought against Shukaku and didn't die and sealed Shukaku in Gaara. + Magnet release. Gaara doesnt have too just used his father's gold dust.

Second bold: They are helped to Gaara for his sake, telling his weakness and for mizukage Gaara has it gold dust from his father and for gold sand is weakness for Mizukage's that jutsu + some of plot no jutsu.

Third Bold: Maybe but after all Gaara is not weak guy. He is pretty badass for now. He is stronger than before.

About Vs Deidara, Why you people under-rate Deidara? He is really strong. He lost against Sasuke due to plot-no-jutsu. And you have some points about Gaara vs Deidara, while this battle, Gaara tries to protect entire village but dont forget about that too; Deidara didnt try to kill him, just trying to capture him.

Didn't say he is the strongest, but he is one of the stronger Kages amongst the current 5 Kages, I'd say he is second to Raikage, although I believe we haven't seen the Tsuchikage's full power yet.

Ops Kaze"kage" my bad. In current condition, it seems he would be 3rd, or 4th just maybe but i think he deserve it the 3rd place. After Tsuchikage and Raikage

Don't underrate Deidara though that tactic showed pretty good intelligence. He analyzed that some sand was much faster and stronger than the others, and deduced that it was the sand defending Gaara. When Deidara took his hand out, he made a strategic plan using the little clay he had and made him defend himself using that sand so that his bombs could reach him.
