Okay, so for this training session I'm going to give you a technique, describe it a bit, and then ask you to do three things for me. First, I want your detailed explanation on how it's performed. Second, I want a description of how you'll use it in battle. And third, I want a "reality check" - how you would go about determining you were in an illusion if you were caught in it. So let's try that with the first jutsu:

( Magen: Kokoni Arazu no Jutsu ) - Demonic Illusion: False Surroundings Technique
Rank: D
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra Cost: 10 (+5 if you use it double)
Damage Points: N/A
Description: The user casts an illusion over an area that allows him to manipulate the way an area looks to fool an opponent. He can only change the way the terrain looks, and not any other feature.

A very simple illusion that affects the optic nerve, changing how your opponent sees the battlefield. With this illusion, you can affect how an entire group of people perceives a particular object, or group of similar objects (like a forest of trees, for example). The object can be as small as a shuriken, or as large as the ground you stand on, but you only affect sight. You can use this technique twice (and it will count as two moves) in order to achieve one of two effects. The first is to create an illusion over top of the first illusion, for example making a kunai look like a candy cane and then make the candy cane look like snake. By doing this, if your opponent breaks the snake illusion it will still appear to be a candy cane, and not a kunai (that is, if they use Kai or D-rank-level pain). You can also use it to change two objects at lessened chakra cost for the second illusion. The technique is only limited by two factors: your imagination and the fact that it only affects vision.

Its a very simple and straight forward technique. The user sends a wave of his chakra into the mind of the opponent, affecting the optic nerve, therefore affecting the targets perception of a certain object or group of similar objects in terms of sight. The illusion can range from changing the perception of something as small as kunia to as large as the ground beneath their feet. However the Illusion cant affect the perception of anything beyond its reach,mid-range being its limit.Whats great about this tech is its layer affect, which can prove to be quite useful,by adding another 5 chakra point you are able to put an illusion over the original illusion you cast.An example would be changing the opponents perception of your sword making him see it as a snake then if the opponent manages to break the gen the other layer kicks in having him see it as another object like a dagger or knife. However despite favoring the layering and feeling that its useful, its a double edged sword.Against an inexperienced opponent the technique will cause a big surprise which could lead to a defining moment in the battle, however against a more experienced opponent especially in terms of genjutsu, layering can make an illusion obvious if not done right. If my sword is made to look like a candy cane then the opponent realizes its a gen and breaks it only to have it transform into a snake,it becomes a sure fire sign that its another illusion to the more experienced person.Lastly its a pretty weak tech in terms of rank,so it wont take much to break it.

The way I see it Genjutsu in terms of use falls into 3 categories.1 being Mental pain caused by a torture gen like Itachi's Ms gen,2 being shock caused by a sudden surprise like a sword suddenly changing to a Snake, and my personal favorite confusion caused by setting things up that are difficult to spot and begin to confuse the opponent. So the way I would preform it would differ based on what type of terrain I was in,for example a rock terrain filled with pebbles I would use the gen to change the opponents perception of them to paper bombs while layering the illusion of paper-bombs over the original paper-bombs illusion.Making it confusing if the opponent breaks the gen, because the pebbles will remain Paper-bombs,making the opponent doubt himself even thinking that it wasn't a genjutsu and playing on that treats then as if they were real paper bombs scattered throughout the field.Which makes him take precaution around the field restricting his movements.

As I mentioned before it can be a pretty easy genjutsu to break when the illusions are too far-fetched,a sword turning into a hot dog then a candy cane if that doesn't scream out genjutsu I don't know what does. However for the more precise examples Im a die-hard uchiha as you already know so my sharingan aids me in the fact that I can always look at my own chakra system to see through an illusion. However without sharingan I believe to discover the illusion one has to rely on their other senses like touch and smell,For example someone uses the tech to make the grass in-front of me appear to be burning, how i would discover it.1 its fire yet I don't feel any heat emanating from the grass burning, and 2 the fire appears to be burning the grass yet I cant smell anything burning.

Now questions! The tech description is not very descriptive in terms of effect,it states a part of an area up to mid range so does that mean I can change Everything in Mid-range,including myself as im in the terrain therefore part of the terrain.Another question how does movement apply to this tech can I change the perception of things that are moving like a butterfly into a shuriken and does this apply to my own jutsu like a fireball being made to look like a boulder.

First, genjutsu isn't so much "sending a wave of chakra" - chakra is transferred instantly between yourself and your target, which means it isn't "sent" towards them (this is why chakra sensors and dojutsu users can be caught in illusions). As for your questions, you have to change specific parts of the terrain - you can't alter how the ground and your body look in one use. But you can change things that are moving, as well as your own techniques (as long as you use the genjutsu after releasing the technique).
But that was a really well-done post - keep it up.

( Genjutsu: Kahen Tonsou ) - Illusion Technique: Flower Petal Escape
Rank: D
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra Cost: 10
Damage Points: N/A
Description: The user makes five handseals, appearing to dissolve into a shower of cherry blossom petals. These petals surround the opponent, blocking his vision. This allows the user to mask his movement effectively.

This technique begins with five handseals, before affecting your opponent's optic nerve to change your own appearance into a shower of sakura petals, as if you had exploded as the flower. The petals then increase in number, an action which cannot be traced by human eye, until your opponent's vision is completely obstructed by sakura petals. Hidden behind the mass of sakura petals, you're free to move around and attack. And yeah, it's a fairly simple illusion like that.
