I was on my own business when suddenly, an intense light was shinning outside, illuminating my whole room. I of course, thought was morning, as my lack of sleep always makes me feel that the transaction from night to morning goes and comes like the tides in the ocean.
Well, I begin awakening, somnolent and almost dumb from the terrible night I had, just to be surprised that there was actually no light, nor anything that was emitting it. I thought it was just my imagination or a wild dream, so I decide to take a small drink of water before heading to bed again.
I walk toward my kitchen with only a pair of boxers. I live alone, so there is no problem if anyone sees me like that. Take a small drink of water, when out of nowhere, a voice called me to the living room.
I was scared, though I had to walk to my living room to find out what the strange noise was. I armed myself with a spatula, which was the first thing on hand. The voice began to drum inside my mind, and before I knew it, I was sitting down on my couch, in front of an humanoid-like alien.
He was big, purple and slimy. His eyes where connected to his body by small antennas. He seemed to be sweating, as his body seemed to be melting on place, though nothing dripped on the floor. I asked him what he wanted, and he told me that I had come to him as I had wished.
Though ridiculous it may sound, I wasn't scared. He told me it was my destiny to strengthen the intergalactic relationships between galaxies, and reach common understanding between the human species and other extraterrestrial species.
I then, told him to continue telling me all this on the porch. Before walking out though, I put some clothes, as the night was chilly (On mid summer). I then, asked his name, though he told me it was impossible for me to pronounce it. He instead, told me to call him "Xo".
The moment I called his name, another blinding light appeared, though just for an instant. It wasn't as big nor attractive to watch. From the light, a man appeared, wearing a heavy clothed suit, similar to those of astronauts, but much more stylish. He wasn't wearing any kind of helmet, so I was able to see his face. He didn't had any facial hair, but a single, short mo-hack as hair. His facial structure gave an approximate calculation of his age, something around the age of twenty and twenty-two.
He then told me he was a time traveler from a "not so far" time. His mission was to be my counselor and assistant during my intergalactic traveling with Xo. I demanded to know who he was. He then, smiled at me, giving me his name: Elfen Lyod, from 2026. I was the one who sent him to the past to take care of me.
Me, having knowledge in quantum physics and other different areas, thought on how stupid the idea was. After all, I would be causing a time-paradox from doing so, but it didn't really matter. If this was true, then all theories would be erroneous, or maybe this was a universal choice far from my understanding.
He told me I am an important scientist on his era. I developed the time machine that he was currently using, "faster-than-light" intergalactic traveling, and other stuff that just went through one ear and to the other. I couldn't listen too well, as I was too excited to embark on an amazing adventure.
As he said, he was going to be my counselor and assistant, and Xo was going to be the one who teach me all kind of different theories and scientific discoveries from all planets. I was going to learn all the universal secrets and paradigms on two weeks.
Though the idea seemed impossible, specially for someone like me, who cannot retain memories for long, Xo told me it wasn't necessary for me to actually be conscious for the process. I was going to be in a machine that will implant all on my mind. I was going to be an intergalactic hero, what more could I ask for?
