Even thou Itachi deserved the fame and respect the hokages get, Itachi was not a man who value those things. He wanted that Konoha stayed save and Sasuke lived peaceful. And today his final wish became a reality. I'm glad that Sasuke accepted his brothers will. Itachi is trully Kishi's best creation!
