Isn't it just as plausible that Hamura didn't want to live life like his brother? Maybe that's why the Hyuga are so reclusive? He knew he possessed similar powers to Kaguya (byukugan) and sought to keep his own power in check instead of traveling to world like his bro bro? Kind of like Ed Norton's hulk where he goes and hides in a cabin until he can control his powers.. idk I don't like the idea of either being "evil"

The fact is though that no one ever learned of Hamura, had he been alive back then and had died normally, there surely would have been people to know about him. The interesting part would be though if Hamura is still known bu only to Hyuga since he is their ancestor.

Again "bad" is a bit too restrictive as a word. I would like to see him more like Kaguya, from the perspective that he also wanted to rule the world, and do what he thought as best, much like Kaguya but with him in the authority. Once he died and he had succeeded as long as he lived to be like that, he decided to help Naruto and Sasuke since he thought that his ideals were closer to his owns than madara's or kaguya's.
