There was no point for hogo to say this, bc there is no chance that Naruto and Sasuke would absorbed Kaguya's chakra, that is imposible.+sealing is way easier....

Why would Hagoromo have tried to extract a soul from a tree? That doesn't make sense at all since Hagoromo did not know it was Kaguya. Besides that, extracting the soul would kill the target and thus destroy (for some time) or release the Ten-Tails, which doesn't help the situation at all, unless said target is Kaguya, which would kill the consciousness of the Ten-Tails leaving it in its original form of the tree.
Did I say he was going to extract a soul from a tree? Of course he did that's why he fought her with his brother. Don't know where you got that information from cause none of that was mentioned in manga.
Hagoromo says the Ten-Tails is the incarnation of the Holy Tree. Black Zetsu says that it isn't and that it is actually Kaguya's will, further stating Hagoromo did not know this. It is factual that Hagoromo did not know he sealed his mother.

Sealing is the easiest way by faaaaaaaar, it only requiers one touch and it is completed.
No he would not mention such a stupid thing, bc he is not stupid. And it is also obsvious that u can not live w/o chakra, exception is Tailed beast even they will sleep for long time w/o chakra.
That is like dumbest way to fight Kaguya Lol She is the one who absorbs chakra, if u try to absorb her chakra, she will absorb urs so fast u wont even release it.... and it will probably takes few days for Sasuke to fully absobed Kaguya Chakra using preta path,while she need only few mins...
Now imagine how stupid Hagoromo would be:"go and absorb my Mother's chakra, this way she dies" Lol
But it is also obvious that she wont be able to Live w/o Chakra. NO ONE CAN.

I know what you mean but there's no one who could drain her of all her chakra without her retaliating. So sealing her is the only option. Of course chakra to them is like blood to us, doesn't change that you can't kill her.
