A question about name changes.

While I understand that name changes are allowed for those who are premium users, or for when there are Name Change events, but something struck me. Say I wanted to change my name, would making a side account with the old username be allowed purely for holding a username, for if I ever wanted to go back to it? I've never heard of an instance like this needing to happen, so I thought I'd ask about it here.

Why do you say no when you're wrong? During the name change event several members asked rei if they could make alts just to keep their previous name, she said yes. If you don't know the truth, don't say anything.

Having a second account is "legal"
Using that second account while being banned in your first one is "illegal"
So I guess you could make the other account

I know that. I don't plan on using a second account except for name fodder and nothing more. I'm not asking if alts are allowed, but if they're allowed for the purpose for what I want.
