A possible confrontation between Kabuto and Black Zetsu?

So in the latest chapter it was shown that everyone fell under Infinite Tsukuyomi aside for the Edo's, Naruto, Sasuke, Kakashi, and Sakura.

However, I'm sure many already suspect that Kabuto might be unaffected due to his ability to shield his eyes from genjutsu and whilst functioning normally at the same time.

Throughout the manga, there have been many allusions to the parallels between Obito and Kabuto, almost as if they are best-friends in a sense.

-Obito pretended to be Madara

-Kabuto pretended to be Orochimaru

-Both were used

-Both were spies and had their childhood taken from them

-Both were orphans

-Obito is focused on Naruto, Kabuto is focused on Sasuke

-They formed an alliance

-They both realized their mistakes and are now trying to redeem themselves

Well now that everyone's under genjutsu, Kabuto could take this chance to help free Obito from Black Zetsu.

It makes for a good chance to finally show the power of both of Obito's Sharingan against an opponent that would be around the same caliber, rather than facing Naruto and Sasuke which will obviously be too much for him to handle.

I really hope this does come to fruition because I was looking forward to a battle between Kabuto and Obito for a long time, and this is a good opportunity while Black Zetsu is taking control of Obito.


I can also see the possibility of Obito going back to the orphanage with Kabuto in the end. He would be exiled from Konoha, and he already somewhat redeemed himself by fighting against Madara.

Unfortunately, I believe Kabuto is stuck in Infinite Tsukuyomi. But it would make for the most interesting side battle yet.

Obito is done for, sorry. Other than that, nice one. Keep in mind that they're not even close to each other in age though: Obito is the same age as Kakashi, Kabuto is a few years older then Naruto and the others.

A quite unique circumstance if you ask me. That is why I like both of them so much, they're not your average villains.

I think it's highly plausible. I made a thread some time ago that Obito will be exempted from all that he has done in regards to starting a great war - not any different than how the Nations themselves did so, but it's not the point here - as all of it was pinned on the cursed seal.

The parallels are definitely there. They had mentors and they admired Naruto and Sasuke respectively. I do see Kabuto utilizing DSM's features to resists IT. He can definitely save Obito as well. They might not get exiled, for all we know, their services in the war and the curse being pinned on Madara could very well result in them being welcomed by Villages.

I do see even Madara getting reprieved, IF Kaguya is revealed. It seems that she's one heck of a *****. All in all, I agree.

My money lies that he does indeed counter.


I don't think Kishi would introduce Kabuto again just to be put back into genjutsu. His reintroduction would have just been meaningless aside for saving Sasuke.

Well if you notice, Black Zetsu was in the same area as Sasuke and Naruto. He might attack them via kamui in attempt to break Susanoo's shadow over them.

They're not in a position to defend themselves outside of the Susanoo, so Kabuto could be the one to save them.

Definitely possible, seeing as kabuto wasn't shown being affected. However just having the ability to block his eyesight might not be enough to protect him.

Regardless, I think it would be a good idea to see them battle. BZ would only have access to one sharingan by the looks though & if SZ takes control of obito then kabuto will be in trouble, he might also need the hokage for support.

It's still under debate since they showed a close-up Orochimaru being enveloped by the genjutsu but not Kabuto

Kabuto has shown to be able to block out his eyesight, so I think it's possible for him to be unaffected.



Besides, as I've already mentioned, I don't think Kishi would reintroduce Kabuto only to be put back in genjutsu.
