itach lied many times to sasuke.... chapter 220 to 225 show very little about uchiha massacre and the whole story of uchiha massacre will be continue on upcoming chapters of the manga as a flashback....
itachi said to sasuke you must kill ur closest friend to awaken ms... which i think that at this time itachi is lieing to sasuke... Based on the above statement of itachi, sasuke made his perception and said that u killed shisui ur closet friend..
so what i want to say is that may be shisui is not his close friend but like his elder brother because 3 uchihas refer shisui as his brother not his close friend and 3 uchihas respect shisui very much but they donot respect itachi... it is never said in manga that shisui and itachi are of same age but still many peoples made their perception like sasuke and consider shisui and itachi of same age... there is difference between saying shisui is a close friend of itachi or shisui is like a elder brother to itachi....
in chapter 221 page 18 itachi said to sasuke that "shinobi usually live as hated people, because they are said to be a problem" then itachi said thats how he speaks.. i thing he refers to shisui so shisui said the above statement to itachi
so may be shisui is like elder brother to itachi....
so i am saying there may be a big difference between the ages of itachi and shisui....

The 3 Uchihas said shisui and Itachi were like brothers. This shows that Itachi and shisui were very very close friends. Not in fact brothers.

Just like how naruto considers Sasuke his brother.

And Itachi did kill shisui but this may have been planned out between Itachi and shisui from the getgo to protect the village and shisuis other eye (his other eye had been already stolen by Danzo)

Kinda away from the point but I like that Kishi cleared things up by showing us the Shisui had Itachi kill him instead of Itachi just out of the blue shanking Shisui to get MS
