I made a thread a month ago about how Obito's story was playing out like a hollywood movie. Now that we have been given a lot more information I thought it would be good idea to revise it. Hopefully this helps everyone understand Obito's perspective a little more. If you would like to read the original it can be found
Like before, I will be using "Soldier" in place of "Obito"
"A soldier is sent to a far land to fight in order to protect his country from the enemy. During the war he is killed protecting his friends. However during his last moments he asked his best friend and comrade to protect his woman. After the war his comrades went home but little did they know he actually survived and ended up being taken captive. While his wounds heal, the soldier spends all of his effort and time to find a way to get back home to his friends and family. The only people he has to live for. He does "Whatever it Takes". Including cooperating with the enemy. During this time the enemies plan is revealed to him but at first he does not take it seriously. His sole focus is to find a way home. Finally, after a long recovery, he hears word that his woman is in serious danger. He desparately fights his way out to go save her. He arrives, but only to watch his woman die right in front of him. His entire reason for staying alive was to get home to see her. The soldier is emotionally shattered. He doesn't know what to do. He is in Denial. Denial turns to depression as he gives up on love, life, hope, the world and everything hes fought for. His depression quickly turns to Anger when he realizes that the friend he entrusted her life with "let" it happen. Now he wants revenge. Surrounded by enemies he goes into a crazed frenzy, slaughtering everyone involved. Yet could not bring himself to kill his friend. As he grasps his beloved in a pool of blood, The words of the enemy resonate in his thoughts. He realizes the world is a terrifying and horrible place, and it will never change.

Determined to force the world to change, Obito seeks power. He turns back to the enemy/madara and cooperates with the plan. He is given the tools and training needed to succeed. Years later, after much preparation, he began. The first part, delightfully, is his home town of Konoha. He attacks the city. Objective: Killing two birds with one stone - Destroy Konoha and obtain the Kyuubi. This ultimately failed, but nothing changed. The plan is unhindered as he waits for a more opportune time.(Insert Naruto Chapter 1)
