Mokuton sage.

We know Toad sages, we know Snake/dragon sages and now we know another one.
I would like to add, this could even be the slug sage mode and Hashirama just uses it to empower his Mokuton jutsus.

Senpou=sage art.

Of course a boss like Hashirama has Sage mode as well.

Senpou - Mokuton Shinsuusenju is the same as Senpo Chou Odama Rasengan, just a jutsu powered up by Sage mode. We just don't know what sage mode it was. It looked like he was healing himself so it could be slug sage mode but it could also be toad sage mode.

It wont be a toad sage mode, due to his eyes not being like toads (the horizontal stripes).
I have come to the concluse that he is in slug sage mode
