We all know rasengan stems from the tailed beast bomb so my idea is to crush and fire it like a beam like the bijuus do,except in Narutos case he'll be using his palms not his mouth. OT: It would be logical in theory; however, Naruto lacks alternating chakra signatures (red & blue) like Kurama has. It will likely never change. You could count the BM Bijuudama as that variant rasengan since the jutsu is based on the Dama.
