Naruto sitting there trying to understand what Hagoromo was saying was mildly entertaining for about two pages.

Did Kishi really have to draw that out for half the chapter?

This is starting to worry me, that he's padding out these chapters with pointless bull sh** and the end of the manga is going to be short and highly unsatisfying. I get that Kishi is trying to emphasize the vast difference between Naruto's time and Hagoromo's... but f*ck me if that wasn't just a waste of time.

What do you guys think? Was it annoying? Did you find it entertaining? Are you as worried as I am that Kishi is stumbling around trying to fill time because he's just going to shoehorn in a short ending?

I thought it was awesome, funny, and quite fitting. I also think people like you reeeeeeeally need to stop complaining about the smallest bullshit details about the manga. It's free, just take what you get

Tbh I was content with it

You can't expect them to understand each other very quickly given that they came from very different times

It's like trying to understand Old English from the olden days in few mins, blimey !

I'm not saying the chapter was bad. I just think that he could have put more of their conversation in this chapter if he had spent maybe two or three pages on it INSTEAD of about 8 or 9.

It would have been the perfect amount of comic relief.

And some Manga's have a little bit comic relief and are absolutely brilliant. (See: Attack on Titan)

He's just showing naruto's character he's an idiot when it comes to conversation and the concept of time
It makes sense if you think about it.

It's like Lil Wayne speaking to Steven Hawking about black holes

See, I get all of your points. It was funny at first, and it made sense because Naruto's an idiot and their timeframes are vastly different. I just think this could have been summed up in half as many pages. :/

He is setting up the new saga after this war has ended. Remember money is the driving factor in any long lasting series. The longer you drag it out, the more money they make. And when this is over, they have already laid the foundation for the new series. Then a whole new set of whiny fans can ask the same questions while enjoying someone else's hard work....for free;)

The chapter was dialogue heavy and full with information. The purpose of the beginning half was to show the Sage's intellectual capacity. I mean, he can understand languages and cultures in moments and can sense disparities in ethics and values just from being in another person's presence.

Naruto's was portrayed perfectly. Any other portrayal and he would have been inconsistent with his character. For all Naruto's moral values and understanding he lacks high level language skills.

I feel the beginning of the chapter was more to establish how advanced of a being the Sage really was.

I'm not complaining about the chapter being bad or that I hate Kishi or that Kishi is a terrible writer.

You put your stuff out for a consumer base, whether it's free or not, and you WILL get criticism.

You put out a comic that's awesome and brilliant challenges it's audience, then one day you post a stick figure with two lines, and tell your audience to fk off because they get it for free because someone said "This part could have been shorter, I felt like it dragged on too long and was pointless to the narrative."
You're gonna lose fans.

I'm not saying this is the same. I'm saying I have my right to opinions, you have yours. Call me whiny and not a "good fan" because I have a single negative opinion about it. I'll continue to reply to this fine gentleman below here.

I agree completely. I think it was a fitting contrast and I was really impressed by Hagoromo's ability to adapt to Naruto's language and make himself understood. I thought it was really awesome.

I just think it could have been done in half the space and gave us more story instead of prancing around like a big tease.
