There's a killer inside of us all
At least that's the cliche
But is it true backed up against a wall?
Let's dive into this and see what we may
There's always the guilty trying to be innocent
But sometimes the innocent aren't as they seem
Would you recognize a killer passing by as they went?
Or do you live in a heaven like dream...
Case, point, and verdict
That's how we'd all like it to be...
But truth, fact, and fiction almost always conflict
And sometimes the killer is someone we can't see
Fact is that a killing isn't always a murder crime
Sometimes it's a crime of betrayal.. or a heart being broken
Sometimes the guilty get off without serving any time
And sometimes the innocent are convicted without a word spoken
Fiction is that life is easy, and fair
And the truth... is that anyone can become a killer
Remember that as you're fighting for air
Or maybe you're the one writing the next deadly thriller..
