Ritual
The look on Hashirama’s face was really cold. But Tobirama wasn’t offended. He was very well prepared for it.
Flashback
While Tobirama was planning how to ambush the enemy, something came to his mind. His eyes were widened. Then he took a deep breath, calming himself to make the right decision. Whether to revive his brother or not. Tobirama was sworn not to use that technique. Not only it was against the laws of nature it was cruel to disturb someone’s sleep. But the situation called for haste. He needed to think fast. He made his decision. Hashirama would be mad but he would understand since it’s to protect Konoha.
Tobirama searched for a convenient place. He prepared everything for the ritual with one exception. "Human Secrifice." He thought that “I’m out to kill them. Why not turn one enemy’s death into my brother’s life. Hmph. That didn’t even put my conscience at ease.”
He then went back to river and started waiting for the enemy. It didn’t take long, they were there. He waited for the perfect moment. And started to simulate the battle. He decided that he would attack them behind so that Kin-Gin brothers couldn’t do anything.
Ginkaku: “Come on out, Konoha dogs! I’m tired of this hide and seek game.Come out and fight!”
Kinkaku: “Ginkaku control yourself or you’ll get yourself killed.”
Ginkaku with a sinister laugh. “Give me a break will you? We both know it won’t happen.”
Kinkaku: “How times do I have to tell you? Do not underesti…”
The time had come:
“Water release: Water Shockwave!”
The water inside the river began to rise up above, and then it began to surround the Kumogakure shinobi. He saw two of the enemy jump above. It was time for the second move:
“Water Release: Water Dragon Bullet Technique!”
The dragon did it’s job and killed the two. And it made an opening for Tobirama to choose his prey. He saw a shinobi who was having trouble to defend himself from the water shockwave, with his earth technique. Tobirama grabbed him and used his Space Time technique to teleport both himself and the Kumogakure shinobi to the place he reserved for the ritual. Then he put up a barrier so that if the enemy were to find them they couldn’t interfere. He placed the man in the middle and called for his brother:
“Summoning: Impure World Resurrection. (I’m sorry, brother, I really am.)”
With some papers flying around Hashirama appeared. Trying to come up with an explanation to what was going on. Tobirama started talking: “Brother it was I who summoned you here. I’m sorry I had to do it but I didn’t have another choice. Please forgive me.”
Hashirama with an angry face: “What the hell is this technique? Was it you who invented it?”
Tobirama with a regret on his face: “Yes. I’m the one who has invented it.”
Hashirama: “Are you mad? To invent a technique like this. How shameful. I expected more from you.”
Tobirama: “I know. I had my reasons. But I realized I had the wrong idea. So I stopped improving it. This is the first and probably the last time I use it.”
Hashirama: “Anyway. You said you didn’t have any other choice. What’s that supposed to mean?”
Tobirama: “Me and my team were ambushed by Kumogakure’s Kinkaku Force. We had no chance of victory. So I ordered my team to leave me behind and get away. I’m here to stall the enemy so that they can escape. I can’t do it alone. I need your help.”
Hashirama: “That’s, noble of you. I’m glad you did it. It still doesn’t pay the price of your technique but let’s move on for now. But there is something I need to ask. What of this technique? Does anybody else know how to use it?”
Tobirama: “No. I didn’t teach it to anyone. There is a scroll but it’s hidden in somewhere. Even if someone were to find it, only a kage-level shinobi could learn from it. It would still take months to learn it though.”
Hashirama: “Why didn’t you destroy the data?”
Tobirama: “I just couldn’t. No matter what, this is my greatest achievement.”
Hashirama: “You still have a lot to learn, little brother. Let’s hope you are right and this technique would vanish in the depths of time.”
Tobirama: “Yeah. Let’s hope that way.”
Hashirama: “Alright what’s the plan. This is mainly your fight. You know them better than I do. We’ll do this your way.”
Tobirama: “There are 17 of them. 15 of them are chuunin and jounin mixed. Two of them are the leaders. They are a famous bunch. I’ll take the two. You take the rest. I’ll show my face first. When they are distracted make a big entrance, take down as many as possible and keep it going. I’ll use the confusion to take the other two.”
Hashirama: “Roger that. Let’s go!”
Back to the aftermath of the battle.
Tobirama: “Once again, sorry brother and thank you. I’ll release it now.”
Hashirama: “Tell me first. Who will be the Third Hokage?”
Tobirama: “I nominated Hiruzen. The Sarutobi kid. He’ll most likely take the title.”
Hashirama: “I see. If so, we have nothing to worry about. That kid was promising.”
Tobirama: “Yeah. Take care brother. Let us meet in the next world.”
Tobirama made the handseals. It was really hard since his left arm was broken. He released the technique. He watched Hashirama disperse as small papers. With a big crime on his shoulders, he was able to save his teammates and his village. A necessary price to pay.
He closed his eyes for the last time.
A hero of Konoha, had faded away.
