It hasn't stated anywhere in the manga that the sharringan evolves into the rinnegan, it says it can get to it, Madara awakened it After he obtained senju DNA so you can only guess, from what I understand it's hinted that you need senju blood. People ask why? Why did itachi need senju DNA to activate shishu sharringan? Rest my case
I think since the uchiha are very distant relatives of the son they need senju DNA to strength that so then they can activate it, people read the manga it's stated in it! Ffs
just to clear up with all you fanboys, when the 1st fought Madara he had ems AND the nine tails and who won? So when people say Madara would own the first it's pretty ****ing dumb. Kishi obviously stated that the first is the strongest so why do people try to disagree.

Itachi didn't need Senju DNA to activate Shisui's sharingan. The hints are getting out of control the only hints dropped were you need to obtain Senju and Uchiha DNA for "Creation of ALL Things." Madara who obtained Rinnegan said that Kabuto discovered the secrets of his body. And Kabuto said sharingan progresses into Rinnegan stated on panel right here:

And thirdly, when did Madara lose to Hashirama with Rinnegan? Exactly, never.

Wrong he never used those words. He never said it was natural. And I believe the word he used is progression not evolution.

madara had to go through work just to get those things, hashirama senju was born with his power... BINGO, Hashirama was always better than Madara.

You cant have madara fight hashirama now coz then you would have to restore everything back to its rightful place, meaning madara with no rinnegan (coz he wouldnt have hashiramas dna).
