I stayed at the hospital for one week to regain my strength and for these passing days, Naruto visited me often. I am not fully used to people outside of that damn house but somehow, Naruto was different. He would try to cheer a person up as many times as he can and he never gives up, even if that person is getting really annoyed. At first, I didn't dare to respond to any of his nonsense chatter and just looked away from him. He kept on talking to me, even if I'm not looking until I heard one of his jokes that made me giggle. And since then, we chatter all day, not missing any single moment of joy. Then, I suddenly realized that I had forgotten about the Hidden Sound Village, of what happened when Naruto saved me.
Naruto visited me again and while he chattered, I took the chance to ask him about something. " Naruto," I interrupted." What happened to the Hidden Sound Village? How did you know that I was imprisoned there? I'm I even allowed to stay here?" I had so many question to asked but I can't say them all while Naruto looked troubled.
"She has the right to know, Naruto." a voice suddenly said and there came Kakashi-san from door.
"You still remember the day that I saved you, right?" Naruto said reluctantly
I nodded, suspense came through my body.
"You were 'not' imprisoned by the villagers of the Hidden Sound. They were all illusions made by a ninja that we're after." Naruto said.
"What?" I mumured. No way. All of those were lies. All lies. I was....entirely alone, all this time.
"That ninja," Kakashi-san interrupted. " Used hypnosis on you and made you believe that the villagers of the Hidden Sound despise you and soon, it will grow to be your hatred to them and all other people outside of that house. I think that he would use your voice,or rather, singing for his goal."
My singing. What I only know about it is that it would hurt anyone who hears it but why would a ninja do to it? What purpose?
"Don't worry, Takara." Naruto said with his sapphire eyes looking at me." Will get him and I won't let him touch you!"
I suddenly thought of something at that moment when he said that. Why would he do this for someone he barely knows?
Evening came and Naruto and Kakashi-san left the hospital to meet up with someone. I was left alone in my room, staring at the window beside me. I hear birds singing at a tree. I envy them. They get to sing freely while I get to be punished because of it. I love to sing, but with this singing of mine, I will only hurt those people who would listen, even those who I cherish the most. Why does it have to be me?
As I thought of these things, a voice suddenly said " You like to sing, don't you?"
Startled, I looked to see that Kakashi-san was still here, leaning on the wall near the door. "I thought you were with Naruto?" I asked, holding my chest from the scare.
"Oh, that. I wasn't even needed, so I came back." he said in a stern tone.
I doubt that, but somehow I can't show it to him. He's scaring me a bit.
"About what we talked earlier," he started with a glance. " I didn't gave you the full details, so I'll tell you to let you know. We were on a mission to capture this ninja from the Hidden Sound Village who has been manipulating people to aid him in his goal and as he used this people, they ended up dead in some places. While we were on the run to capture him, we ended up in an old house in the forest,"
Suddenly, when I heard about the old house, I interrupted. "Was I in that old house?"
Kakashi-san nodded. "We already knew at that time that he was holding you captive in his house from our spies. Naruto also knew what you've been through."
I looked down, remembering those memories of loneliness. I, then, suddenly remembered Naruto and got this opportunity to ask him. " Kakashi-san, why is Naruto risking everything to help me, who he barely knows?"
He stared at me for a moment and looked at the window. " You see. Naruto was alone once when he was a kid. The villagers didn't accept him because he has a beast sealed inside him."
I gasped. I never knew that there was a beast inside him and I never knew that he was alone once. It never showed from his face. " But, why is he doing this for me?" I asked again.
" That's simple. He doesn't want you to be alone anymore. He doesn't want to see anyone who have the same experience as him." he said, closing his eyes.
"Was he accepted? By the villagers?" I asked hesitantly.
"Yeah, he was and you know why?" he asked, looking at me.
I shook my head to know the answer.
"He didn't gave up." he said with a single breath.
Surprised, I felt like I was the biggest idiot in the whole world. When I was in the edge of life and death, I was giving up. I wanted to gave up a long time ago but, after hearing this, I realised that I was being a coward. Running away from my obstacles and running away from my fears.
" Kakashi-san." I called out to him quietly.
"Hmmm?" He looked at me and saw in my eyes, the determination that is ready to face anything.
The dawn shoned behind me, boosting my confidence."Please, let me go with you on the mission!!"
