Good afternoon guys i need your thoughts on this, and trust me it's a bit random but it's crazy. Today, while i was at work 2 lady's started a debate over race, and said something that i was shock to hear; they said it was black people fault that they are called racial slur o.0 and before you ask what kind of job is it, i tutor students on campus in the student center in my spare time. now i am guessing these two students are from the south because of their accent and i am also guessing they were coming from a history class because they had history books. anyways i am in shock i had to ask them to leave the center but i am also curious in what you guys think one this subject is it their fault, because i love history and hearing this i don't know whether to be piss off or call these girls a racist.

By the logic of what you said, simply calling someone French, would be Racism.

Well they said because the black people say the N word in music video's and such, they are entitle to be called the N word by the opposite race, because they "practices" it, so it's our fault according to them. i pointed out its how you use the word that counts-their answer to me was it shouldn't matter how they use it-they are entitle to use it how they feel, their for it's "our fault" and they base it on the fact that we use to be called "colored not the N word" that right about the time i ask them to leave. that's why i am asking you guys for your opinion.

But really, I took offense when reading "i am guessing these two students are from the south because of their accent" also, yeah, they were racist. But are you saying that because they're accent is that of southern it makes them more likely to be racist? If so, I took more offense. What does their acient have anything to do with it?

it doesn't i am sorry for your offences, but honestly lets be realistic not saying all but with my experience of encounters with people from the south they seem
to have a general thinking of "blacks" most don't like blacks and most do up to this day. all i mean by that is most just grow up with a one side version of thinking without getting to know the (person culture) and judge because of their raising environment. so basically i said because of their accent i shouldn't have taken it so seriously that's all i mean.(and before you start attacking me, trust me i have been to place's like Mississippi and had experiences where the store owner didn't want my "kind" buying gas their, not saying all is like that just saying, and (this happen 2 years ago the gas thing)U_U

General thinking of the south? Dude, I'm from WV and where I live, the general thinking is just like it is with anyone else. "I don't know base someone's attitude on the skin color"

Does everyone in the South think the same where I live? I don't know, but don't go grouping people. It's 2011. Racism is dying. It's went down alot, and is dying slowly. People, jerks, still exist who believe that way, but it's getting taken care of.

i try explaining it, to the clown up top, all i simple sad was most people who are like that and use it in a wrong way its not their fault, it's how they were raise for Christ sake, but if they know what they said and really don't care of it, and yes you have the right to your opinion but when you put it out in front of people face's that right becomes 0.(same as freedom of speak-only have it to a certain extent).
