[Discussion] A Big Change in Sasuke's Personality

I know you all have been spammed to death about the reveal of the character appearances today, but did anyone else find this weird?

Sasuke "if he isnt around(/here/there)...You have to be protected by me(/I have no choice but to protect you), i guess."

This is a quote from Sasuke that is going to be in Naruto Movie "The Last" and does this sound sorta out of character for Sasuke? I mean not only is he protecting someone, but he is doing it on behalf of someone else. I mean who can we really say Sasuke is obligated to enough to protect someone in their behalf. Did Sasuke become a nice guy or something?

What is your opinion of this?

Only person i can remotely think off is that he's protecting someone in place of Naruto, either that or he became a scriptwriter

Nah, he is saying that if this person isn't here. That kinda gives u the impression that the person just isn't available and he is doing it kinda begrudgingly, like he has no choice

Awesome idea for the last movie which I got from this quote: A new villain, strong enough to defeat Naruto (Hokage) and Sasuke, kidnaps Naruto or Naruto goes missing. The village becomes terrorized, and Sasuke just comes to the village, (as he is a wanderer) finds Naruto/protects the village. They then kick the villains ass together.

Sakura....maybe. I don't think Sasuke even knows who Hinata is, but the person he is doing it for could be Naruto. Maybe Naruto went off somewhere and the Leaf is attacked? So, he is protecting the village in Naruto's stead? But, Kakashi is Hokage, that makes him look hella weak.

And he might still have negative feelings for the leaf
But I think he most likely means for naruto

Wtf... Hmm, that's an interesting quote. I can only see him referring to either Orochimaru (like to protect Karin or something) or for Naruto & Kakashi (To protect Sakura or some Konoha ninja). Pretty strange to hear such a quote from Sasuke.

It does seem kinda out of character but I'm sure it'll be developed to where it makes more sense from now to then.

Yeah most likely, maybe something happens while Naruto leaves during a mission and the only one strong enough to protect Kakashi is Sasuke, maybe? And not sure why he addressed Kakashi like that maybe because he's hokage or something? Don't know really, Sasuke so far only addressed his clan members and Itachi like that, maybe he gains respect for Kakashi in the future, who knows?
