A Beautiful Light
Long I waited, for the coffin to open,
To walk the earth once more,
To lay my eyes upon you again,
And love you until the world could no longer keep it in store.
As I walked amidst the crowd,
I felt alien, oh how much I longed for thee,
For I could be myself when with you, no longer shrewd,
But a kind, caring man, and the human I could never be.
Your innocent charm, your warm heart; I promised to love all I can,
Your child-like giggle, your kind and loving humanity,
But when I heard you talking to me about some other man,
I never thought that I would experience such cruelty.
Admiring from close and from afar, never going too far,
For fear I could have destroyed all that you love and know,
But the time was right; I did it with a heavy heart,
I brought back what had been locked away, in the hopes that our love would grow.
I hurt for what I took from you,
