[Debate] 90% of current rap music/black entertainment needs to be eliminated?

I personally believe that current rap music and a lot of the things we consider to be black entertainment is killing the community and making the black youth emulate behaviors that are rude, obnoxious, dangerous, criminal, and outright sabotage.

Rappers like Chief Keef, Tay-K, Playboi Carti, regardless of whether you like them or not, are having an influence on the youth to where they actually want to be just like these men. I personally believe these things need to be cut out and left behind, or at least consumed in moderation.

I disagree. Those Rappers are simply entertainers. They just need to tell their followers that. If their followers are influenced by their "stage" lifestyle then that is on them and their parents.

That influence of the stage lifestyle is spilling into the community and affecting the behavior of the kids and by proxy, the community at large.

I think alot of people feel that way. It's a bit anarchistic. But then again, rap has also ties to people who wants to fight against a system that is racist so it makes sense.
I think people should make up their own minds, but if parents tell their kids to not listen to certain music then that's their right.

That isn't entirely true at all. Poverty obviously has effects however there are poor Polish neighborhoods in NY without half the crime black communities have. To say that music and other forms of entertainment plays no role is just ridiculous.

if you made the argument that mainstream media is 'recipe for disaster' (like some repressed, tormented person) and that it impacts the youth, then yeah. albeit i don't believe it applies to just one single genre or one single artist/tv show/collective. i do hold the belief [pre-]teens are highly impressionable and do wind up mimicking a range of behaviors within today's society and that media does play some kind of role in it

I think there's should be at least some governmental responsibility on what's appropriate to digest, most people come from broken homes and also parents don't control what influences their child.

A kid could come from a good family and still fall from negative influences,I personally think there should be a standard of what's readily digestible to people.
