Wood clones get lol'd at by KCM Kakashi's practically unlimited Kamui snipes, and that's if Madara even gets a chance to use them when being pin-ball'd by a guy who can bend the space-time continuum with his raw speed.

Evening Elephant didn't do significant damage to Madara's body. He was tanking most of them. Since he is aware that he is restricted from regeneration, he will just start with Limbo Hengokou to one-shot Kakashi. He finishes Gai off with TBB.​

Limbo shits on Kakashi, and Madara kills Gai after he uses Night Guy and fails to kill him. Regeneration let him heal from the attack, but it doesn't change the fact that the attack itself wasn't enough to kill him, and that wasn't because of the regeneration, otherwise he would have died on impact.

How is Gai going to deal with Limbo anyway? He can't see it or sense it, nor can he hurt it. But it can hurt him.
