Why Jiraiya remember all the realm body that he once meet in the past?

I think Nagato is the real Pain...in Jiraiya's own words "the real one is not with them" I stand by that theory. Nagato my have kept an eye of his old master during their years apart n just decided to use the bodies of ppl jiraiya fought in the past ,for some odd reason.
