Well genjutsu is ability to place your opponent under a illusion. Genjutsu requires chakra and some even hand seals but the difference between genjutsu and other abilities like ninjutsu, basic 5 etc is that with genjusu you don't target the opponent's body, attacking them, you target their brain and once you send your chakra onto your opponents brain, you place under your illusion.

Well one of the abilities of the sharingan is genjutsu. They are known to be experts in that field. By seeing the chakra they can notice if they are placed in one. They can simply place their opponent under their genjutsu by making eye contact with them. >_<

Description:This is a illusion counter were the illusion is reversed back unto the user and they get the damage of the jutsu(only works from b rank down).

This is the first Sharingan genjutsu technique you will learn. This isn't actually an illusion but rather a counter to B-rank and below illusions. Once you are put into a genjutsu and you figure out you are in one you will reverse the illusion onto the opponent, placing him under the very same illusion while releasing yourself from it. Imagine this technique being a mirror and the opponents genjutsu a ray of light. Once the light hits the mirror it will be reflected away from the mirror and back to it's source. Understood?

Combinations-strategies This depends on the genjutsu used so I can't really come up with strategies.

Ways to counter: This is basically a genjutsu, I believe once one notices that he has been placed on the same genjutsu he attempted to place his opponent they should be able to free themselves by using cutting themselves of course this depends on the rank of the genjutsu. Also if you have your sharingan active and the genjutsu is a visual, one you free themselves right away.

Description: The user will use their Sharingan to cast an illusion upon the opponent by looking them into their eyes; this illusion makes the enemy fall asleep but makes them think they are still watching the opponent without realizing they have fallen asleep.
Note: Requires direct eye contact with tomoe 3 Sharingan.

A technique where upon direct eye contact you place the opponent into an illusion which makes the enemy fall asleep but still see you thinking they are awake. In reality they are asleep but still think they see you. In the illusion I believe you can make the opponent see what you want him to see. You usually have such freedom in genjutsu.
