I don't really care if you think the novels are canon or not. Kishimoto did the illustrations for the 3 Shidens, approved, supervised them. Also, there are some of his own content inside the novels:

Do you realize that your opinion doesn't matter to anyone, right? So you can spout "filler" as much as you want, doesn't change the fact that the novels are just as canon as the Boruto manga (created under Kishi's supervision), and unless you can present something more plausible, it's still just your garbage opinion.

Naruto Shinden confirmed that Sarada had the Fire Ball jutsu and that she learned it from Sasuke. Two weeks later, she uses it in the anime and confirms she learned it from Sasuke.
