Whooo!
Finally finished the story, not that I told any of you of that, just wanted it said! ;D
Great story indeed, with those damnable cliff-hangers! :T_T:
Reading it all, I've been on a trip back to discovering Rock 'n' Roll all over again~
Glad to see you enjoyed it, it definitely spams the cliffhangers throughout but it's indeed fantastic by the end. I hope I can reread it sometime soon.

xD Awesome. Everyone in this thread seems to have read it faster than me:
I'm just starting volume 15 XD Just after the odd stuff happening in the Science Room -Poor Donkey :'(- It was weird. Honestly, I feel like the explanation will be indeed mad...Yamane was such a weird boy...even more than Sadakiyo. Kouzimi always makes me laugh xD She's a boss ;D Got close to Friend's ID faster than any of our dear Kenji faction (LOL). Not to mention she survived twice to the Bonus stage. HAhaha At some point, she won't show up again :( And I'm going to miss her...
Anyway, what's your fav character?
I'm loving Kanna a lot. She has a lot of spirit, and it's incredible alike to Kenji (who's one of my favs -and you're right about the rock, but in my case it's like having a clear guide xD Since I never really payed attention to the chronology of the bands).
For some reason, I'm very attached to the legendary detective Cho-san (the first one, not Chouno Xd Chocho XD)---
And I have Mon-chan in mind too. That of not being completely devoted is something that happens to me a lot...it was very touching, his story and how he behave.
That's good progress, though you still have a lot ahead of you in the next parts to come. Get ready for another atmosphere change, 20th CB likes to pull that on the readers.

And yeah 20th CB has an amazing cast, I love pretty much all of the important characters. As I've told you before though Otcho is my personal fave, dude's badass and plays a really important role in the story throughout.

Meh, faster, slower, I just have a lot of free time.
Not sure which is where in the story, so I'll be careful not to spoil anything:
Yes, poor Donkey, but he sure knows how to jump! Better than Ezio, Altaïr or any assassins! O^O
Koizumi really does a lot as a comedy relief to the story, there when she doesn't want to!XD
Oh, you have a lot of epic reading ahead!
Never really make myself favourite characters, I think it's so difficult to decide something like that, but I do disagree with whatever friend does, but love how awesome Kenji can be, and Kanna's just adorable as a child! When she grows up = boss.
Oh, I have a vague idea of chronology as well, but that doesn't matter much to me: as long as it is before the 90's, you're bound to stumble upon some great classic rock!
Ah, Cho-San, the character no good story can do without!
Hmm~ well, you're not alone in that I'd wager, even I get that feeling, as if I can't connect to what I do wholeheartedly, though I'm close to ending that feeling, I hope. May the gods of fortune smile upon you 20th/21st century boy! ;D
Glad to see you enjoyed it, it definitely spams the cliffhangers throughout but it's indeed fantastic by the end. I hope I can reread it sometime soon.
Me too, it was a good story, and those I enjoy~
Not that I'm disagreeing with cliffhangers, but at the moment you're reading the manga, they really make you want to continue..
It'll be a good manga to reread.

I only said I'm going slow because my friend Drakengard started around the same time, but he already finished o_o But I'm taking my time to enjoy the art ;D Right now I'm in the middle of the volume 15:
Wondering if the pope will survive, most likely he won't ;D That whole father Luciano story-ya know, avoiding the Vatican because they caused the death of Father Perrine- sounded a bit like those Dan Brown's novels (tho I have never read one xd Just saw bits of the movies, which I strongly disliked xd). Leaving that aside, it's getting pretty cool. When I saw this scan: I thought "I have to try and color this sometime!".
About Otcho, just saw the explanation Xd

You know, it's funny, but know I'm starting to like Friend a little xD At the beginning I couldn't care less about him, even tho he's the main antagonist. I was just intrigued about Kenji and co. Gotta love those flashbacks. I loved the ones in the Escape of prison arc.
Anyway, this scan: Is the one in which I thought >>Cool!<<. I sense some awesome stuff coming up ahead
Oh well, I have still plenty of material to read.

hm...I don't know XD xd To be honest, I've heard lots of the storyline of Death Note (ofc they're somethings I might be missing) but overral I know it's plot xd (thank you Noe! -that's my friend's name xD He spoiled me everything xd I remember he was one of the first Mexicans to like DN, when no 1 would talk about it, he was already in the middle of the plot). So I hadn't take the time to read it (it doesn't thrill me xd).
But if you ever read the Liar game manga, between Akiyama and Yokoya, I'd choose Akiyama (let's be honest, Yokoya is pretty tough, but Akiyama is a boss )

... ... Hmm.. Ok, I think I get it. It's a shame he had to spoil it all, it's a good story!
Anyway, 'friend' murders ruthlessly, he's the 'bad' guy! Hmph! O^O

Yes, he his. But he has to be one of the BEST antagonist I've seen!
I mean, first Kenji and co. had the Book of prophecy. They were suppose to be able to predict Friend's moves, but the extents to which Friend led the book were unbelievable! And he won ;D Then there's this rip-off of the original "The new book of the Prophecy" and you say.."Ok". But now I'm surprised how Urasawa managed to pull the whole thing again! And Friend won twice! ;D He has a great show sense, he just know what ppl desires ;D Miracles  I'm looking forward for the explanations of all his tricks

Oh well, that's a question of biased opinion, I'm bad with those. The interested will think what they want, I just can't seem to bother with it any longer. If it's a good story I'll enjoy it and not compare with other stories or characters from these.
For me, I don't categorize things into best/worst, not when it comes to entertainment anyway. They are what they are, not to mention: these are fictitious, which makes it much more difficult to compare across stories, or so I think it.

It's a great story, you'll probably like it even more by the time it nears its conclusion. I really enjoyed the end of this manga, they managed well with it!

Yep as super said I've finally finished 20th/21st Century Boys xd (was a good gread by the way). As said before I feel some aspects could have went better but it doesn't stop it from being a good series. Now I'm well into Monster (Uraswa's other work) and I have to say it's competing with 20th CB quite well. So far 20th CB remains supreme at bringing back characters and using them for all they're worth. Would make another thread for Monster but I've been making too many threads about them lately ._.

I know XD That comment only means that's one of the antagonist I've liked the most :D It's inspiring ;D

Don't restrain your self unless a mod tell you to do so ;D After all your threads contribute to the community :D The whole wall-cities reminds me a lot to Ba Sing Se (XD). Not the most accurate of the comparisons, but you have to admit the idea it's pretty similar, and it might actually work (we have seen it in real world)!

Oh boy, my first day off in a long time, and the thing I do is taking a marathon of 20CB....
I saw so many plot twists! :D I couldn't be happier! Certainly I wasn't expecting this:
