Don't know about the things you were talking about b4 mentioning the mafia, as I was referring to Naruto and Naruto Shippuden only.
Do you think the mafia boss was a better Shinobi than for example Kakashi just because of his influence and money? I don't think so. And I think you misunderstood my message. I wasn't referring to Kakuzu, I was referring to the guys he made a deal with before fighting Asuma. Do you think because they're "better" people just because they have more money ? Lol

In my opinion wealth has had such a tiny bit of influence in NV that it shouldn't count as evidence to make one a better shinobi. If it would've played at least a bit of a role, Kishi wouldnt have made the first ever villain a weak mafioso. If we look at Obito, Madara, Pein, Naruto (pre hokage), Sasuke, Lee, Neji, Kabuto, Itachi, Sasori, Gaara etc (the list goes on) could you really say if they WERE tied with Gato (let's say he was a shinobi), that he would be better because he had more money? You're reaching way too hard imo.

-This isn't just about being a shinobi, it's also about their character and their influence in the world they live in. Naruto's wealth plays a role in his character and the people in his family. I never said it was a major contributing factor.
-Gato's role was a mob boss that used people as tools bought with money and we know what lesson was learned from that arc.
- I'm not reaching because i'm not putting him on the level as obito and the others. You are for some reason, on the basis of his wealth (the most his money did was stunt a bridge construction) and trying to make gato a shinobi when he isn't. Not to mention Obito and Madara were leaders of a mercenary group and controlled a small village so they had some form of wealth on top of influence and power.
-Gato also had no positive influence or positive power. In fact, the person he hired ended up killing him and his crew disbanded and abandoned him.
-Wealth has it's role in the NV, big or small.

Naruto is wealthier than Sasuke. He earns his income as being a Hokage which is much more than what Sasuke earns from his missions. Naruto pays Sasuke for his effort and not vice versa lmao.2016 and Naruto stans are still obessed with Sasuke
OT: Its 2016 and people still haven't moved on with the Naruto vs Sasuke debate.
Okay so to sum it up shortly, Naruto's goal was to become Hokage and Sasuke's to kill his brother and redeem his clan. Obviously both characters achieve their goal (s). While Naruto's goal had something to do with wealth, Sasuke's hasn't. By your logic I could just add another category which favors Sasuke and make it seem like a legit source that adds to him being a better shinobi? I call that reaching. If you want to compare, you should do it on even grounds. It's like trying to match Sasuke vs Naruto in Kenjutsu/Taijutsu.

Naruto's goal didn't really have to do with wealth. That more of a by product of what he wanted to do. I doubt someone wants to become president for they pay.
Once again, this isn't just about who is the better shinobi. It's more to it than that. It's about their influence, their effect on others and the world their wealth, personal struggles and relationships plays a factor into that. The accolades and achievements they have.
This is an open discussion so i'd be more than happy if you would like to add another category. Personal struggles might be a good one Sasuke takes in given all he's been through in relation to Naruto.
Despite that I find it interesting that the people complaining voted for their fave rather than, the "They're both still equal in achievements accolades influence etc."
You happened to vote for Sasuke.

Yes they were following Kaguya lies. The Manga states Black Zetsu whispered at Indra ears and at every major Uchiha’s ears. Madara,Obito and Sasuke and lured them to darkness only Sasuke because of Naruto was able to escape the Uchiha curse of hate.

Naruto being wealthier due to being a hokage was only a byproduct, that's completely true, but also the reason why (imo) you can't compare them. Naruto's goal was to influence people and to be accepted. The best goal for that was becoming Hokage. Hokage means power, respect and influence. Both categories would therefore immediately go to Naruto, as that was what his character stood for the whole manga.
Sasuke's character on the other hand stands for redemption, revenge and the seek of justice. All these things have been accomplished by him as well.
There's no way naruto would ever be on one level with Sasuke when it comes to revenge/redemption, but there's also no way for Sasuke to be as influential as Naruto. See what I mean?

I voted they are equal because at the end of the war I see their fight as a draw and in The Last and Boruto the movie they only remain on par with each other because Sasuke has one arm and easily replicates feats on par with Naruto and it can be argued that Naruto's skills have dulled since becoming Hokage as a result of not having alot of time but regardless of that he still kept up with Sasuke during the attack on the Chuunin exams and when they fought Momoshiki and Kinshiki with the other kage
