All of the conditions you listed are conditions for HUMAN life. We have no idea what kind of life can be supported under different conditions. Our planet had certain conditions, so organisms evolved to fit those conditions. If life sprang up on a planet without water, that was gaseous, was close to the sun, or was very far from the sun, they could adapt to those conditions. We've seen organisms on our own planet adapt to conditions that from out view are far from "earth" like conditions.

Personally I think its a mathematical certainty that intelligent life exists elsewhere in the universe. The sheer number of planets, solar systems, stars and galaxies is almost incomprehensible. In our own solar system of 8 (sorry pluto) planets, we have 2 that we think were capable and possibly did once hold life. Earth does, Mars might have. Then we have moons such as Europa that could also have life. And this is just in our own solar system!

Heres an estimation on the number of planets in the Universe:

MILLIONS of BILLIONS of planets likely to be in the universe. And in our tiny solar system of 8, we have 2 that fit OUR model of a life sustaining environment. 2/8. Now spread those odds across millions of billions of planets and it just makes mathematical sense that we're not the only beings who have contemplated this question.

As for them visiting us, I agree with you. We're intelligent beings (sort of) and we haven't even been capable of reaching Mars. Thats our neighboring planet! So for a civilization to reach us they would need to be THOUSANDS of times more advanced than us. And then they would need a reason to do so. And if they had a reason, why not try to engage us in something? Trade? Diplomacy? War? It just makes no sense for them to creep around in the shadows when they're much more advanced than us.
Life requires water and a correct balance of gases so that the atmosphere doesn't go insane like it did on Venus. Venus had too much CO2, so the sun's heat was trapped inside of the atmosphere, and now it's just a really crappy place to live lol. Life could not exist on Venus even if there were water there. The water would boil off.

Our solar system is really really really lucky :p We have just the right size sun, we're in a good place in our galaxy, and we have big planets like Jupiter and Saturn to pull in any dangerous asteroids that might accidentally hit our planet by flying into our solar system.

So life requires other things besides conditions on the planet.

But yeah... it's kind of depressing lol
