Obito spent his time crying about Rin.....he missed Rin more then missing his dear parents.....thats why i don't like his character being Tobi.....i never saw a manga panel where obito missed his family and wished to see them again!!!...SO LAME!!!!!...RIN DONT EVEN LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!....YU UNDERSTAND ??? she loveed Kakashi becuz kakashi was better then you!!....

Obito was indeed a bad villain, but not because of what was written in the OP. He was a bad villain because, ultimately, he was NOT a villain. He was a hero who lost his way and began playing villain, but in the end became a hero again. The villain that he was playing was Madara, so Madara will always be the better villain because all of the villainy that Obito commited was in Madara's name. When Obito became himself again (shown when he made a point to declare himself as Obito while stabbing Madara in the chest) he became a hero.

Yes, I would say that Obito died a hero. You are looking at Neji's death from the point of view of the main character, a member of Konoha. Let us look at the larger picture. Shinobi kill each other in wars. Minato, the pinnacle of heroism in the leaf, was not a hero in iwagakure. Nor was Gaara a hero before Naruto changed him. This can be said for just about every character.

What makes Obito a hero is the fact that the world was saved DIRECTLY as a result of his power and his sacrifice. Obito had a shorter time to work with his reformation (his life was forfeit as a result of being a jinchuuriki that lost his bijuu) but if he was not with them when Kaguya teleported them off of earth, this is what would have happened. Sasuke would have died in the desert of a foreign world. Kakashi would have died from the ash bone piercing him. And EVERYONE would have died because Kakashi would have been dead, so there would have been no one to make that final strategy that sealed Kaguya.

Jiraiya said a shinobi is not the way he lives, but the way he dies that defines him. Obito died smiling at Naruto telling him to fulfill their mutual dream of becoming Hokage, and later lent his power to Kakashi from beyond the grave to ensure everyone's future.

There really isn't a villain in Naruto, best bet is Kaguya /BZ since their true intentions for IT were never revealed. Other "villains" wanted peace in some shape or form, those being Nagato, Madara, Sasuke (sort of), and Obito. Orochimaru gets a bigger shot at villain, although he was initially good but again we don't see/are told why he became a bad guy or atleast to my knowledge.

1-you are a true NB member and i respect you so much becuz you disagree with me in rational manner!

2-it's nice to regrete your wrong deeds but that wont make you a Hero....he was just trying to redeem himself...the true heroes are the fodder shinobies who died protecting their villages......

3- yeah in war shinobies kill each others.....but not becuz of a 13 years who girl died ...storng goals requires strong motivations!!

knoweldge is a relative concept...you got your own definition of villain...and i got mine....Madara was the only good and villain guy...

he was the yin and yang....Madara's way is villain but his goal is good

Obito is not a hero. He has done too much wrong and destruction to the ninja world to be labeled as a "hero", and I'm pretty sure that the people that were killed by his hand don't think of him as a hero. His little last minute "heroic act" does not change the fact that he is scum and his actions don't justify him in anyway.
