"To conquer oneself is a greater task than conquering others…You cannot travel the path until you have become the path itself…No one saves us but ourselves. No one can and no one may. We ourselves must walk the path…"

On most occasions, the Monk tends to keep to himself and administer verbal contact with others only when it is needed. The only way to unleash the ferocity that the subject possesses is to directly be a hindrance to his ministrations. Otherwise, the relevance of anybody else are not to be taken in and acknowledged. The reason for this is simple: They present nothing that will be of true worth, and the stupidity of any other opposing party's composition is perceived to as such.

Among the moments the Monk expresses emotion, He bears no ill will towards anyone, but only a momentary dislike towards that object or human. He possesses a deep respect for life and freedom, refuses to even eat meat but subjects to having to feed on fruits and vegetables to quench his hunger, and is always reluctant to fight unless in the name of life. The Monk should be approached with caution. The level of violence is extremely high with the subject when provoked.

The subject is obsessed with destruction regarding his enemies. Whether locked in combat with a worthy opponent or a weakling by his evaluation, he will not hesitate to go to extremes to cause pain and anguish in the most potent of ways. This can include maiming the victim, or prolonging life so as to physically and mentally torture the victim until they willingly hand their lives over to him. This feeling rarely happens, for the mind is kept calm & pure.

The cold night of March 13th was rather troublesome as many ran and bumped into each other along the corridors of the Hisakata Manor. The screams of a female and the commands of a male conjoined together to craft a chaotic scene; all present within one room on the second floor, the scene for where life was bought into the world. Akira Hisakata and Misti Monk were pleased at the perfect health and safe arrival of their newborn son, Ichibei Monk. From that night forward to the last days of his carefree, toddler years, life that the family could be commonly seen walking the streets of Konoha; simply introducing Ichibei to the world and its inhabitants whether sentient or not. Little did Ichibei know, at the time, was he was conceived with strict goals in plan. His mother was selected by his father, simply to fulfill his desire to create a flawless personification of his Taoism beliefs. At the age of five years old, Ichibei was introduced to the Ninja World. It began when his father sat his down and looked the boy into his eyes. Uttering, “It is time…”, followed by Ichibei’s father leading him into the corridor by hand. Nudge to walk forward, the boy did just that to only look back and witness nothing. His father was no longer there, and despite being only five years of age; he obtained a feeling, one that elad him to believe he wouldn’t see him for quite some time. It was the next day that Ichibei was enrolled into the academy to learn the ways of the ninja world.

Ichibei would engage in physical training and lessons administered by the academy after participating in a series of basic tests to judge his potent ability. As expected, because of his background, he passed with flying colors particularly in regards to his intelligence. Though the tests to determine his chakra proficiency lacked in comparison, Ichibei began the path to perfect and extend his arsenal of ninjutsu to taijutsu to genjutsu. By his second year at the Academy, Ichibei had become a Ichibeid member of his cohort. He had a pretty easy-going nature and found himself to be quiet apt at adapting his person to suit the expectations of whomever he was talking to. Meaning he could present himself to be likable to just about anybody. Thanks to his ability, the young Monk was never without friends and general popularity. It was in this year that Nami joined the academy, which led to a strong friendship to develop between the two, eventually continuing to grow and blossom to the point that one summer afternoon they married. It was a simple ceremony in the back corner of the playground. Ichibei used a liquorish ring. Though sadly the love failed to last as shortly after the ceremony, Nami got hungry so a divorce shortly ensued and the ring 'vanished'. For the next several years Ichibei simply rode his life through, convening to the simple routine of academy-work, extra tuition in hand to hand combat and other arts from his Clan-Elders. When it came the end of his time at the Academy, he graduated successfully with notations of excellence.

By the time the Monk reached the age of ten, it was his first year being a Genin. Among the squad he was dubbed as the close-quarters expert. They were serving under a man named Roshi. He was, for the most part, an Ijutsu user with a knack for strategy. Also on the team was a ranged Ninjutsu expert named Kuhn and an illusionist named Hatsu. Together they made a pretty good team, having all of the essentials covered minus a tracker; though they'd be able to more-than handle their own in a fight. For the most part, seeming as it was a time of relative peace in the Land of Fire, the team did simple missions that focused around their training as a unit. It wasn't until a whole year had passed that they finally saw their first taste of real action. They were being requested to body guard a merchant to the border, where another team comprised of higher-level shinobi would then take over. Body guard work was rarely given to Genin, but seeing as it was inside the country it was deemed to be safe enough.

Everything started simple enough. The team took their well-practiced formation around the man and his caravan and walked for a few hours. Once they were nearing the border, all hell started to break loose. Bandits appeared, except it was clear to see they were a bit more than your average sword slingers. They seemed to use no actual chakra, but their abilities with a blade were unrivaled. Roshi took the flanking position with Kuhn, allowing their distance to play the key role in dealing with most of the threats whilst Hatsu, the fastest of the team, was sent to the border to fetch aide from the other Shinobi team waiting to take over the body-guard duty. Within moments, as was expected, several of the Samurai managed to break their way through. Ichibei had never actually been in a real fight before, as in the ones where life and death were factors within an outcome. Though his training acted for him, the blood lust and will to fight took over. Ichibei just couldn't pull himself to take the kill. However, the leader of them ceased all oncoming attacks and simply placed a hand on top of his hair. The odd man revealed himself, after taking off the mask, that he was indeed Ichibei's father. Disappointed at the current level of skill, he took it upon himself to train the boy, thus he disappeared through the forest, along with his men, abandoning his village.

From that point on Akira begin to train Ichibei in the principles of Onmyoton, the concept of bending energy within one's body. Thus bending proves to be nearly impossible to ever fully master due to it life threaten characteristics of violating the “Overall Balance” of existence. However, his father disclosed the purpose of his life and that he was destined to be first capable of truly mastering this lost concept. Despite learning why he was truly conceived, the Monk was glad to finally reunite with his biological father. Therefore, he started the tutelage under Muten Akira and in that process he was taught complex chakra control as well molding. Nevertheless, Akira began teaching the knowledge and philosophy of Taoism. Unfortunately, the Chunin exams were arriving before the sudden occurring events. Ichibei wouldn't be able to participate in the exams, so the Monk requested some sort of ceremonial advancement. Thus, he was banished from the temple and instructed to give up food, drink, and social interaction in order to become one with the universe.

Managing to succeed in the trial, the Monk was able to return to the temple as a different and, for the better, improved individual. After the return, his father showed a great sense of pride because of his change in altitude. Not only was Ichibei more level headed and insightful, he began showing great interest in the ninja arts as well a craving about its power. He felt it was time to embrace this curiously, thus began training in his first element. Under a strict regime, the Monk commenced training to “bend” the element known as Wind during the year's autumn season. Within in time of training, Ichibei mastered the element with a concept to bend for freedom. Makano successfully gained Chunin status among the mentors of the temple. He was on the fast track to becoming a very accomplished student: excelling in traps, perception, and amazing wind release techniques and tactics. It had now been three years during these significant events.

Returning home, to officially become a Chunin, the Monk and his team were promptly entered into the Chuunin exams which were being held in the forest of death this year. His team, out of respect for Ichibei, waited to graduate together. During the exam, Ichibei rose naturally to the role of leader within the three of them, steering them safely to the final rounds. Upon reaching the finals, which was one vs one battles among the participants; both Ichibei and Hatsu managed to pass and move on to being Chunin, whilst Kuhn was unfortunately defeated by an illusionist user from Sunagakure. Upon becoming a Chunin, Ichibei was given his own squad to lead and teach. Through the next two years he'd shown himself around the village to be something of a natural leader, a teacher. He volunteered at both Civilian and Shinobi academies throughout the village. He spent a few hours a day babysitting the younger members of his Clan.

For the first time in three years, now being sixteen, all three members of his squad progressed, causing Ichibei to look good as a teacher in the process. With his Sensei abilities proverbially shining bright, the fact that Konohgakure was looking for a new Special Jounin to run the Shinobi Academy landed the Monk with a new role to play in the village he loved. He was the Special Jounin in-charge of the Shinobi Academy. It gave him more time to spend around his clan, it allowed him to be closer to the younger members of his family as he was, for the most part, their teacher and it allowed him to pass on the small amount of knowledge he learned from his father to others and most importantly, it was at that time, the best thing he could do to aide his village. It was, once again, a time of peace and there was no real need for Ichibei to strive for a combat-orientated role such as an ANBU or field Jounin; he believed he was doing greater good by training the next generation instead.

Although everything was working out for him, Ichibei started feeling guilty because he was the reason his journey to master the elements was hindered. His guilt eventually began casting visions of a shunning father and decided to proceed with mastering the next element. During the year's winter, the Monk studied to master the “bending” of Water; the next element among the quad-elemental cycle. Within the year of training, Ichibei mastered the element with a concept to bend for mobility. Whilst in this role, the Monk had more time on his hand. This allowed his personal life to take a bit more of the young Monk's attention. He started spending more time with his family, getting himself involved deeper into the clan politics as well as closer to Nami; whom was at this point a Chunin being scouted by the ANBU falcon division. The pair grew closer and now that they were older, their relationship began to change. They went from best friends, to romantics interests and eventually, dating. It was rare, for two Monks to actually take the time to date at such a young age. Wanting to protect his love, he gain acceptance into the ANBU, which wasn't difficult because of his abilities. However, fate doesn't play nicely and proved so when it killed the closest person to him. Nami.

Though many were heartbroken when Nami died, none suffered more than young Monk, he was so devastated that he suffered a mental collapse, and became unresponsive to his surroundings. Ichibei's devotion and love for Nami were shown to be in the extremes when he not only defied the Hokage's orders, but when he he tracked each and every individual involved with the order and action of murdering Nami. This act of defiance showed that nothing would stand between the Monk's revenge, not even his moral standards about life being sacred. In that period of bloodshed is connection with nature itself seemed to blossom, evident by the fact the Monk was capable and achieving mastery bending of the element lightning; an instrument of destruction. Succeeding in his murderous streak, the Monk was closed to killing the last one until his father once again showed.

And, were it not for his father's service; it isn't much of a doubt Ichibei would of murdered him. Muten Akira only managed to do so, by casting his son into comatose state that render his conscious and unconscious wills weak. This method of control was issued to help Ichibei rehabilitate mentally, physically, and emotionally from the impact of his loss. Even, when the Monk did regain conscious, all he could do was scream in agony, cry and wish it was all a nightmare, and that Nami would soon hug him like she used to. The loss of his love had a crucial impact on the man, even leading him to concede into thinking that he wasn't worthy enough to return to the village nor teach another soul. Nor, did he even dreamed of being this so called mighty being meant to bring balance to the world. He only came out of his depression after his father made him realize that life would and is always tied with death. Thus, even if Nami was gone; a new life was bound to bloom to signal her rebirth. At the age of twenty, the man stood and eyed down his father, finally decided to live up to his destiny. The Monk sought to achieving this power in order to prevent his lost from repeating ever again, however not for him but the world.

After seven years of training, the Monk is greeted by his father whom was prepared to take him back to his birth home. However, Ichibei responded with rejection. He held no attentions of returning. Thus, he stood and eyed his father down the same way he had done two years ago, and commented that his assistance was no longer needed for that he had done all he could do. During the last years of training, the Monk learned how to manipulate Fire and Earth. His father asked what would become of him, and Ichibei simply answered with “Life and Death”; and, began walking towards the setting sun and rising moon towards Amegakue, for it was there he had determine his mark on the world would begin.
