Byakuya has slate gray eyes and long black hair, which he keeps up in intricate white headpieces called kenseikan, one on top of his head and another on the right side. He wears a white clock along with a white scarf made by a master weaver.
The scarf is made from the silver-white, windflower light silk and is a family heirloom that is handed down from generation to generation. The scarf alone is worth enough to buy ten large homes. He also wears fingerless white tekkou that cover only the back of his hands.
A year and a half after the execution of the young boy that he encountered during the raiding of the rogue village, Byakuya wears hairpieces at the back of his head, but it was noted that those hairpieces were not kenseikan. He now wears a variation of a haori with a high collar which has light gold on its edges and small, light gold tassels attached to the corners. The white scarf is also no longer part of his attire.
Personality: Byakuya acts in an aristocratic manner, he seems always serene and apathetic towards other people, even when he is actually deeply conflicted. He is also extremely calm, even in battle, and is very seldom surprised by even the most drastic of actions. However, when he was younger, he was quick to anger and very hotheaded.
He generally acts indifferent, bordering on arrogance, to most situations that he is faced with as shown from how he rarely views his opponent as being worth his time. Despite this trait, Byakuya is a very perceptive man and is fully aware of the limits of his abilities and usually anything he states in comparison to an opponent is justified.
Byakuya strongly believes in law and order. He always works hard for a peaceful society. He feels that if someone in a high-ranked position does not follow the rules as a good example, then no one will follow them. He believes that to maintain the order, all law-breakers must be punished, even if that goes against his own wishes. In spite of his icy and regal manner, Byakuya cares for and protects those important to him.
He likes Japanese cherry blossoms, night-time walks, spicy food, and bananas, but he does not like sweets.

|| Childhood Arc ||
Byakuya was born into the Hyuuga family, one of the four noble clans of Konohagakure. Byakuya grew up in the Hyuuga mansion in Konohagakure. He would spend countless hours training, in preparation of becoming a Chunin and also taking up the responsibility of one day becoming an official Jounin.
Byakuya was raised to never give into temptation or his own emotions. If justice called for the punishment of someone closed to him, he would not interfere with any punishment that would be brought down on them, no matter how emotionally troubled he might be about it. He was also taught to never reveal his true emotions to anyone, especially his potential enemies/rivals.While Byakuya was the age of five, he was told that he would one day become a proud Jounin, but in order to do so he would have to first pass the Chunin exams and continue onto proving he is worthy of being a Jounin. For the next five years, Byakuya was determined to prove to his family and those who would judge him that he will become a powerful and proud Jounin of Konohagakure.
At the age of Seven, Byakuya was confronted with an offer to further increase his ability to wield a sword. Byakuya quickly turned the offer down, because he has been told most his life that one's strength is made by their own hands. Following by what he has be told throughout his life, he plans to follow through with the laws he has been told.
After many years of practice with the blade, Byakuya was confronted by the head of the Hyuuga family baring a sword of great creation. The blade was specifically made for Byakuya's hands alone, and was not to be given to anyone else but him. When Byakuya took hold of the blade, he was told to never let it leave his side. He is not to let the blade sit at the side of anyone else, and is not allowed to be held by anyone but himself, and the blade is to never harm those who are not worthy of its touch, or do not deserve punishment by the blade. Byakuya did not have to use his sword, until later down the road in his life.
At the age of Ten, and after many long years of practice and harsh training, Byakuya went onto taking his Chunin exam. During the Chunin exam, he was faced against a member of the Uchiha family, his opponent was named Akichi Uchiha. Akichi had lived a tough life and has grown up based on the world that he sealed himself in. Byakuya and Akichi were complete opposites, but in some ways were a lot alike. Despite what they might have or had in common, Byakuya refused to see what they had in common, because his eyes were clouded with all the differences between the two of them. Before the two young ninjas met on the testing ground of the Chunin Exams, Byakuya had a run in with Akichi the round before there's, and they had a stare down and a quick fight that was later broken up by a Jounin ninja. Byakuya was raised to never leave a fight unfinished once it is started. Unlike Akichi, Byakuya refused to put aside their differences and become friends. Though Akichi was always a person to distance himself from others, he felt as though Byakuya and himself met for a reason. After the round before Byakuya's had ended, Byakuya and his opponent Akichi Uchiha were called forth to the Chunin Exam grounds. When they made it to the grounds, they had quite a stare off. After some time was given for the two of them to build up tensity, they finally began to clash. After a hour of long and intense combat, Akichi and Byakuya ended the test in a draw, and the both of them continued onto becoming Chunin. Though the two boys could pick out the slightest differences between each other, they could also easily see the things they had in common, no matter how much one or the other wished it to be otherwise.
|| Execution Arc ||
Throughout Byakuya's life, he has never been forced to draw his blade against anyone or anything. Though Byakuya was taught to never draw his sword against the innocent, Byakuya refused to let the boy he met all those years ago in the Chunin Exams go on thinking he is Byakuya's equal. Byakuya has made it his life long goal to one day find the boy he had fought against in the Chunin Exams, and defeat him in a fair, 1 on 1 fight and prove that he is far superior then him.
Byakuya at the age of 32, is an official Jounin in the Village of Konohagakure. Though Byakuya hasn't made quite the name for himself yet, he refuses to give up on proving that he is the strongest Ninja of his generation. Though Byakuya has done the math in his head countless times, and the odds are greatly against him, he will never stop trying to become the best. Byakuya refuses to accept himself if he finds himself anything less then perfect. Byakuya knows clearly that he has a very long
path ahead of him before becoming the strongest Ninja of his generation, and he also knows that he is far from being close to being perfect, but Byakuya will never stop believing that he will one day prove that the tie that him and the Uchiha had all those years ago was nothing but pure luck for him.During a mission that Byakuya had been assigned to, he found himself at odds with himself. Byakuya was ordered to kill everyone that had taken refuge in a small village just barely outside the borders of Konohagakure. The people who had taken refuge there are criminals that have killed, stolen, or broken some sort of law. When Byakuya had approached the village and had begun to cut down all the criminals within the village, he came across a little boy who reminded him of himself somehow. It was obvious the boy has lived a harsh life, and has had to make many difficult choices in his life in order to survive. The boy was obviously guilty of many crimes, but Byakuya found himself unable to cut the boy down. While the two stood staring at one another, Byakuya with orders to cut down any and all criminals, and a boy who was no older then eleven and has already broken more laws and committed more crimes then an average criminal. The boy stood there acting fearless, but was obviously afraid of dying. Byakuya, knowing his orders and knowing that injustice must be removed from the world, he could not bring himself to cut the boy down.
Byakuya gave the boy the chance to run from the village and start a new life of justice and following the laws of the society they lived in. After Byakuya had returned to Konohagakure to bring his report forward on the mission, he was told that a boy had escaped the village and was found stealing right after he had escaped. He was told the boy was to be executed by Byakuya's blade that had been titled, "Blade of Justice". When Byakuya had heard the news and what he was required to do, he was confused by what he should do.
Both duty and justice called for the death of the boy he gave a second chance to, but Byakuya's personal emotions were interfering with his duties and his judgement. The day of the boys assigned execution had come, and Byakuya was still trying to decide on what to do. As Byakuya was on his way to the execution, he was confronted by his grandfather, them an who had always told Byakuya to never let his emotions interfere with his judgement. His grandfather had known that Byakuya was confused on what to do, and his grandfather simply told him, "Regardless of who or what they are, anyone who disturbs they law in our Society must be brought forward to justice." After Byakuya's grandfather had told him this, Byakuya was still hesitating on what to do. But he knew that both Duty, Justice, and the honor of the Society he lives in calls for the execution of the boy he had given a second chance.
As Byakuya approached the boy with his blade drawn at his side, he looked at the boy in pity. The boy then looked at him and said, "Do not pity me Sir. I have chosen to make the decisions that have led me to this day. My life is not a life, it is a living hell. So please, free me." After the boys words were spoken, Byakuya saw in the boys eyes that he has not only accepted his fate, but wants it. Byakuya still a bit uneasy of cutting down a boy, took the boys wish into consideration and executed him with his blade.
From that day forth, Byakuya's emotions have never gotten in his way when it comes to duty and justice.
|| Exploring for Training Arc ||
After awhile, Byakuya began to take notice that he was getting no where while he remained in the hidden leaf. Coming to realization with this, Byakuya decided that he would leave the village, in search of further training. Before going, however, he paid his respect to the grave of the boy he had executed. Leaving an offering for the boy, and lighting some incense in hopes that the boy found peace.
After his visit to the grave, Byakuya decided to head to the main house to gather a few things, and ask for his grandfather's blessing for departure. Though Byakuya's mind was set, he would feel more at peace with his decision if he knew his grandfather was without anger toward him.
Upon entering his grandfather's study, Byakuya bowed in silence for a few moments and then stood straight before him.
"Grandfather, I know this is sudden.. but I feel I must adventure beyond the walls of the village. I seek to become stronger, and I am not finding that strength within these walls. I have come to believe if I leave, for a little while at least, I shall come across powerful shinobi that can aid me in my training.."
Byakuya half-expected his grandfather to first show a form of shock and then disappointment, but instead was granted a moment of laughter from him followed by a pat on the shoulder.
"I could not agree with you more, my boy! To be quite honest, I'm surprised you waited this long to make this choice. You were never one to remain in one location for so long. Nevertheless.. waste no time boy, you have much ground to cover. So go! Find those who will guide you to become stronger, listen to the elders you come across, hope that they will guide you as I have all these years."
And with that, Byakuya bowed once again and left the village, beginning on his journey to find training among the many other shinobi of the great villages.
Byakuya's first stop was the village of Kumogakure, in which he entered and was instantly greeted with their tall buildings and chilling air. Byakuya explored the village for four days and four nights, completely hell-bent on finding someone to train him.
After his efforts to find someone to train him, he had come across a shinobi that seemed rather relaxed, and was clearly powerful and claimed some form of shinobi rank among the village of Kumo.
Approaching him, Byakuya bowed in respect and asked the man's name, in which he was given an answer.
"Name's Dee Dee.. So you want to learn fire huh? Sure, I'll help you out...
"
After Byakuya was offered training from Dee Dee, they made their way to a training field in which they trained for at least a week in the art of fire release. After Dee Dee taught Byakuya everything he was capable of learning, Byakuya bowed in much respect, then stayed one final night in the village of Kumogakure.
The following morning, Byakuya left the village at first light, now making his way toward the village of Iwagakure.
Entering the village, Byakuya took notice to its fine structure of buildings and decor.
Wandering the village for a time, Byakuya stumbled upon a strange yet oddly enough, clearly powerful shinobi of the village. Approaching the man, Byakuya asked the man's identity.
"Who, me? Hehe.. Oooh I'm no one special, just the kage-leader of Iwagakure, Toku!"
Byakuya was surprised to hear who the man was, and then instantly bowed his head in respect.
"Sir Toku.. I beg that you take me in as your student and teach me the ways of wind release.."
Byakuya knowing that asking wind training from an earth specialist was odd, and pretty stupid to pass up the chance for training in the earth release from the master, but the choice was made nevertheless.
Toku agreed to train Byakuya for a time, teaching him the basics of the wind release element.
Eventually, Byakuya was called back to his village by his grandfather during his training with Toku, for family business was needed to be taken care of, and Byakuya's presence was required.
Out of much respect for the kage's time, Byakuya bowed and apologized for his sudden departure, and informed Toku how he hopes to one day return to Iwagakure and continue their training. Rather it be in wind, or another form of training.
