History | 歴史 Okita was born from a samurai family in the Land of Iron, and was in the care of his older sister after their parents died when he was seven years old. At the age of nine Okita's sister left him in the care of a man by the name of Kondō, an older Samurai with formidable skill. Thought he lived in Kondō's dojo, he was extremely cagey and refused to open himself up to anyone. He was initially a live-in student at the Kondō's Dojo, but was treated more as a servant and was beaten by the other students which left him with bruises.
It wasn't long after this that Okita left the Kondō household of his own accord, taking with him their sacred treasure, a sword known as Ginryu. It's safe to say that he was hunted relentlessly because of this, but he was never caught. He had a single destination in his mind, the headquarters of the Shinsengumi. It took some convincing on his part, but the men who served the Shogun eventually took him into the fold and raised him as one of their own. As the years passed Okita's skill with a blade would increase tremendously, but he had no idea how to utilize the techniques other samurai could easily perform. He needed a teacher, and so began his journey across the Land Of Iron once more.
