Looks:He keeps his eyes constantly narrowed to slits, rarely ever opening his eyes which are found to be a bright sky blue. Although he appears to be an early to mid twenty-year-old person, he is unusually thin and tall with very sharp features giving him a skeletal appearance. He bears unusual silver hair. He also keeps his face set in a wide mocking smile, which he only wipes off on rare occasions of annoyance, surprise, confusion, or even sadness.
He wears a white hakama. He wears his robe open in a narrow 'V' down to his waist, closed to below the hips, and then open again to the hem, which falls about mid-calf. His robe has long bell sleeves, into which he hides his hands like one does with kimono sleeves. The lining of the robe and edges or layers of the under-robe(s) appear to be black. From other examples, it is likely he is also wearing black tabi with white waraji.
The hilt of his sword is visible sticking out from under the robe through the opening down to his waist.
Personality: Gin is a very mysterious person, since his almost constant smile and slitted eyes, combined with his heavy use of sarcasm and mocking politeness, make it very difficult to discern his thoughts. Many find his demeanour and appearance rather unsettling and there are very few who are willing to trust him. Gin seems to be fully aware of the effect he has on others and more than once has been seen toying with people's emotional states for his own amusement.

Description: This technique is unique to samurai, which employs the concept of chakra flow techniques similar to the flying sparrow and Kusanagi: Chidori katana. Through the use of chakra flow the user channels their chakra through their swords his extends the reach and the cutting ability of the blade, and also allows the user to fire crescents of chakra whenever the blade is swung. This released chakra is capable of great destruction as shown from how it destroyed a stone pillar. The samurai have also shown the ability to use shape transformation, as they can form their chakra blades into giant buzz saws, broad swords, spiked shafts, and axes. This ability allows them to rely on smaller swords while retaining greater reach, damage, and surprise attacks as needed.(The technique is capable of countering Ninjutsu of A rank and below due to the chakra charge technique).

Description: This is a simple but effective technique created to surprise the opponent or perform a counter while having a hand-to-hand fight. The user focus and compresses his chakra on the tenketsu points around his body a little, then he releases it. This will result in high bursts of energy released from the user's body which will momentarily grant him more power and speed, which only the third sharingan tomoe can keep up with. Once used, the user will not have constantly a boost on his speed and strength, by the contrary, he will release it in multiple bursts of energy which grant him those powers for a length of around two/three seconds. After that the user will need to focus his chakra on the tenketsu points again which takes around one or two seconds, before he can release a new burst of energy again.

Background Info.
History: While living in the Land of Iron as a child, Gin found Rangiku Matsumoto, a child herself, collapsed on the ground. He offered her some dried persimmon, which he was carrying at the time. Following, Gin introduced himself to Rangiku, Rangiku commented on the strangeness of his first name. Gin and Rangiku's shared love of dried persimmon can be traced to that day.Following their meeting, Gin and Rangiku started to live together and it was during their time together that Gin asked Rangiku when her birthday was and she replied she didn't know, as she never really counted the days until she met him. Gin then told her that from then on, the day they met would be her birthday.
During a trip to outside the village, Gin also encountered Kakuzu, who turned a missing nin not so long ago, while he and Rangiku still lived in the Land of Iron. While gathering firewood in a forest, when he spotted Kakuzu and three other ninjas (who were kneeling on the ground before him), through a clearing in the brush. Spying on them, he saw Kakuzu killing one of them. It was then revealed that earlier, Gin had seen those three ninjas leaving an area where Rangiku was collapsed. Realizing that Kakuzu must be the leader, Gin resolved to kill him.
Gin had a habit of leaving Rangiku most of the time and not telling her where he was going. During one such incident, Rangiku found Gin with blood on his face. When Rangiku asked him what he was up to, he replied that he had decided to become a Samurai and change things so they would end without Rangiku having to cry. Gin and Rangiku joined the Samurais together. Since then, Rangiku has been one of the few people Gin seems to truly care for.
Some years ago Gin graduated and was given a seated position in one of the Samurai's divisions. One night, again, during one of his trips outside the village, Kakuzu found Gin and resolved to take him under his wing
9 years later Gin is shown to be involved in a betrayal, trying to get Kakuzu killed. The battle was intense. At that time Kakuzu wasn't on his prime and Gin managed to kill two of his 5 hearts, however, he ended up defeated.
Gin went back to the village. Rangiku thought he was dead and cried of happiness when they met again. Gin then swore he would never leave her again, tough he would still avenge her by killing Kakuzu.
He is currently training to get stronger in order to punish Kakuzu for hurting Rangiku.
