They ended on the 4th place in a group of six consisting out of Iceland, Czech Republic, Turkey, Latvia, Kazakhstan and of course The Netherlands. Absolutely no one expected this to happen xd

Why ? Sweden is the strongest of their group right now imo.

Yeah but Skorm said that Sweden is doomed... Why ? The best players are summoned to play for their country. Anyone haves a chance to win, it's 11 professionals vs 11 professionals.

They reached 30/30 in the qualifying rounds, they're really not a bunch of losers and their group isn't particularly difficult. I wouldn't call them favourites though, more like outsiders.

I still don't fancy them. More of hype than quality. But let us watch and see.

Yes they did. But the reason i' doubt that they won't make it that far this year is because of the tension between their players, but well see.

There are 24 participants, rationally speaking everyone has a chance to win simply because they participate, however that doesn't take away that there a differences between the quality of the teams.

Following the FIFA world ranking this is what you get:

2nd - Belgium

12th - Italy

33rd - Ireland

35th - Sweden

When you follow the total monetary value of each team, you get the exact same order:

Belgium

Italy

Ireland

Sweden

And there are more statistics like this. Of course everything is possible in football, however it remains a fact that Italy and Belgium are considered to duke it out for the first two spots while Ireland and Sweden are the underdogs who will duke it out for the 3rd place. Rationally speaking Sweden is the 'weakest' of the four teams. That doesn't mean they are bad as this group is eligible to be considered for the Group of Death, however that Sweden is the strongest in this group is nonsensical.
