I know all these Naruto information/wiki pages aren't always too reliable.
But I went through Leafninja webpage about Akatsuki,
and I took a phrase from there:

"The exact origins of the group are clouded in mystery, rumors suggest it may have formed in the Water Country."

That made me think the exact origin and as I recall,
didn't Pain say that he formed the group but didn't Yahiko
have the first Akatsuki organized when they got reparted of Jiraya
and grew up and all that?

Like I said, not all these pages have the right information so I'm asking
if anyone remembers from the manga/anime. Can't be arsed to go through
all that ​

Well, I do agree with you Zera but it must be said that the real Akatsuki Criminal Organization began with what occured in Kiri when they really began forming their members.
They were just war mercenaries back when they were fighting Hanzo.

That info is not wrong but it's a bit undetailed and gets misleading...
